  1. Thank you Diego! Thank god that ball wasn't hit to Right.
  2. That's the best excuse he could make? Even more than spending 40 mil on a pillow he could have paid someone to think of a better excuse for his sorry performance. I hope someone steals his pillows and he goes back on the DL.
  3. I love calling him Diego. It allows me to be a fan of his and still hate Jim Edmonds. If only he would wear a disguise. Mr. Potato head style glasses and mustache.
  4. I think we should call Jim Edmonds "Diego" all year. I'd enjoy it.
  5. For as much money as Danny G makes he should be able to tie his shoe faster than this. http://deadspin.com/55111...ic-needs-velcro-sneakers
  6. I saw on PTI today that Nebraska is open to joining the Big Ten. I wouldn't mind Nebraska. I'd be thrilled if they added Texas, Nebraska and another school though.
  7. I'd love to see the big ten add another team and just call themselves the Big North. They could even use part of the "N" and the "O" in their logo to make a 10 if it made some people feel better. My first pick would be Notre Dame but that isn't happening. Texas would be great. After that I don't know how excited I would be about Rutgers, Missouri, Louisville or any other rumored team. I think they could then divide into East and West divisions. West-Minnesota, Wisconsion, Northwestern, Iowa, Illinois, Texas East-Indiana, Purdue, Michigan, Michigan St, Ohio St, Penn St I think the divisions are fair for football and basketball. I know Texas would make it hard for Wisconsin to win the division every year but it would be fair. The football schedule would be against every team in your own division every year and three teams from the other division each year and three games from out of conference.
  8. Sorry if this was mentioned and I missed it but maybe DM thinks locking up Prince long term increases his chances of getting FA pitchers to sign with the team? It limits the money available to sign them but it shows them that the team will be competitive through the end of their contract.
  9. I drove from Milwaukee to Phoenix. Took me about 28 hours. I wasn't exactly popping No-Doze and racing out here but still trying to do it quickly. It sucked and I wouldn't do it again. I'd agree that it would be much better to fly. Just my opinion though.
  10. Lots of good info on this thread already... My wife and I are heading over to Vegas over Halloween weekend for her birthday and I was hoping to get even more advice. Can anyone recommend a great sushi place? We are looking into staying at the Mirage. Has anyone stayed there and what did you think? As far as golfing goes is there a course that is really worth Vegas greens fees? What's the minimum I can put on a game at the sports books? Thanks in advance.
  11. No, I don't think so. They are already here and like it. That's not really the same. A 35 year old catcher and a 36 year old outfielder still isn't the same as attracting a pitcher or stud player in their 20's to sign in Milwaukee over another team. I'd say it's progress though.
  12. I don't see how it is Melvin's fault. If JJ had the mental toughness he would have had a good year and found himself starting for this team or another team next year. Instead he was mentally weak and worried about something he had no control over and allowed it to ruin his season and the teams season.
  13. JJ needs to understand supply and demand. This year he supplied very little quality play and because the team has a younger, faster, better defensive, cheaper option already in the system... the demand for keeping him on the team is very low. He's expendable. The team owes him nothing. If he wanted to stay in the majors and sign a big contract he should have played better. I know that some of you will have better knowledge of this than I do but I'm wondering if the team didn't do him a favor by delaying his FA year. How much money would you throw at a slow .229/.300 hitter with 11 HR? I know those stats are only from this year but even his career stats are underwhelming. Add all of that to his whining about where he hits in the lineup I don't even want him on my team. Back to supply and demand, how many SS are out there that teams would want to sign? If Jack Z didn't go after him I think that is telling. He acquired BILL HALL and not JJ.
  14. When people disagree with Ted Thompson other fans like to say things like "Find another team then" or "Be a Jets/Vikings fan". I don't agree with those responses. It's more than aggravating to have spent years hating Yankee fans who have a sense of playoff entitlement and after 1 season of just making the playoffs some of our own fans expect the playoffs. It's a process. DM went for it last year because anyone could look forward to this year and see that the team wouldn't have the best shot at the playoffs. Give the guy more time. After getting the team to this point he deserves the chance to make the big decisions coming in the next 2 seasons. Who would you have replace him?
  15. I'll be checking it out. I love PTI, watch it every day.
  16. Absolutely agree. Why should the team march him out there every day when he isn't producing? He WAS a good player last year. This year he played like a player that belongs in the minors.
  17. No you're not the only one who laughed at that. That must be one high class tailgate he is going to.
  18. You're right Invader. There was some talk of it though. I had heard that he was capable of starting this year because his stuff was that good. I'm sure he won't but that leads me to believe he may see the big leagues next year at some point and his rookie year would be no later than 2011.
  19. Logan, I was under the impression that with the talk of Strasburg possibly pitchign for the National's this year that his rookie year would be next year. At the very latest I would think his rookie year would be 2011. I admit I have very little knowledge of him or any other prospect. I could be completely wrong.
  20. I think it depends how their fights go. If Velasquez wins easily and doesn't get hurt at all he would get a shot first. I think the Couture-Nogueira winner regardless will need more time before their fight anyway. Especially if it's Couture because of his age. It does definitely set Lesnar up if he keeps winning to fight Carwin, Velasquez, Couture-Nogueira winner. If he gets through all of that maybe a third fight with Mir. Pretty smart of the UFC have Lesnar fight Carwin now instead of Carwin vs Velasquez. The loser of that fight isn't much of a title contender. That said, does anyone think Carwin will beat Lesnar? I'd love to see him to it but I'm not sure he can.
  21. I see what your saying Invader but I believe the correct response is "We are sorry our family member is an idiot and did something so terrible."
  22. I hope this guy never sees his kid again. Anyone that stupid and violent, with a family that stupid, doesn't belong in the kids life. Did this moron really even know it was the mayor? Why would the family say that if it was anyone other than the mayor he wouldn't have done that? What's he doing with a lead pipe at state fair anyway?
  23. Does anyone know, is Madden for the wii really that lame little kids version? How incredibly disappointing if it is.
  24. Seriously? At this point Macha is just messing with DM. I didn't expect to see Escobar hit anywhere in the top 5 but 9th? Welcome to the big leagues... I think so little of you that you will be hitting 9th. The only way it is more offensive is if Kendall was playing.
  25. Only a few times, but I've seen Kendall play more than enough. Every young catcher will have some trouble at first, why not get whatever problems there will be out of the way this year, when it doesn't matter anymore and the alternative is Jason Kendall? And if Salome is that atrocious, I'm open for Lucroy getting a chance. I think that Rivera, Salome, and Lucroy should all get 2 starts a week in September. At the least the guys will be able to get a little experience. What is the reason to stick with Kendall until the bitter end? How does it help now or in the future?I think the reason you stick with Kendall until the end is the same reason you don't screw JJ out of service time by 1 day like some have suggested. You don't want to be THAT organization. If you want free agents to sign in Milwaukee, which is less than a top destination for most players, you don't bench Kendall with 7 weeks left. Whether people want to admit to it or not Kendall has had a long, successful career. 7 weeks of a few extra hits isn't worth it. It would be an embarrassment to a well respected player. When I watch other teams broadcasts of the games they almost always mention Kendall. That alone doesn't mean much but you give the guy the rest of the season playing atleast 5 days a week and part ways in the off season.
