  1. I think the upper deck is okay if you're near the infield. Probably true of any stadium though. Whenever I buy tickets for a game I make such an effort to get seats as close to the field as possible and then I get there and realize I would have been okay in cheaper seats too.
  2. No tailgating but there are a few bars nearby. Jacksons on Third (recent bad reviews, went there years ago and it was fun), Alice Cooperstown, Majerle's, Coach and Willies, Sliders American Grill (right outside stadium) and Fridays. I hear good things about Coach and Willies and I've been to Alice Cooperstown a few times and it's great. Both places will be crowded though. One bit of advice for people coming in from out of town is to look into riding the light rail. I'm going to try it, lots of people have told me its a great idea. Won't have to deal with traffic coming out of there and it is walking distance from the stadium. Also gives you some extra time to make sure you are sober before driving. I'm sure no one is planning on driving drunk but just a heads up, AZ DUI laws are STRICT and the penalties are brutal. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=ycn-8679233 I'm planning on going to Sliders or Cooperstown, wherever I can get a table.
  3. I'm going on Tuesday, possibly Wednesday depending on the game time. Wish they would hurry up and announce it. I've been to Chase Field and sat in the bleachers in LF. They are good seats. Check out this link, http://arizona.diamondbac...park/seating_pricing.jsp you can click on a section and see what the view is like from that section. Hope to see lots of Brewer blue at the game. I was wondering if anyone was organizing a meet up or if people were trying to get seats in a certain section? Really sad that less than a week before a playoff game there are whole sections to choose from. I really can't encourage people to come out enough. The weather is great and the seats are cheap.
  4. I was enjoying this game more back when it was boring.
  5. How many of the 3 plays Jerry Hairston Jr just made would Casey have made? 1? Glad Casey is sitting today.
  6. Chipper was so far off 3rd for the shift. Would have loved to have seen them send Nyjer on a steal of home. Or atleast have Prince drop down a bunt towards 3rd.
  7. I have no problem with anything Morgan did against the Marlins. It was a close play at the plate. As previously mentioned, Weeks and Fielder take the catcher out all the time. It's a good baseball play. The Marlins threw at him and he stole a couple bases. If his team was winning by 11 then I could see complaining about it but his team was losing in the 4th inning. When they threw at 2 of his teammates and threw at him again he should charge the mound. It's the right thing to do. If the Brewers would have done that at some point this season we wouldn't be thrown at as much. Make that pitcher think about whether or not hitting the batter is worth getting clocked. If the Brewers needed an OFer I'd want Morgan on my team.
  8. That was my thinking too benji. Casey seems like a good option as a sub and might not have the ego to be upset with going from starter to sub.
  9. You'd have to assume that Corey in RF is > than Gamel or Lawrie in RF. I think if it's 3 years and 25 million it's a good deal for both sides.
  10. I think a trade of either Hart or Fielder to include Wolf would be genious. It's sort of an NBA style trade. Next years contract commitments prior to arbitration raises would be 16 million. Prince and Wolf for a low level, unlikely to ever produce minor leaguer would be a tough sell to the common fan but all of that payroll flexibility... Is there a rule against this sort of trade? They could even try to get a team to take on LaTroy Hawkins and his 4.25 million bringing next years payroll under 12 million.
  11. Brockman would be the shortest center in the league if he is the back up. He's 6'7". I think they will use him like they used Darvin Ham at first. Just come in, use his fouls, dive for loose balls and rebound. Skiles will throw him in there when the team isn't giving enough effort.
  12. Did Joe Buck have some work done? He looks like an alien version of himself. He looks like he's sticking his head out of a moving vehicle the way his skin is pulled back so tight.
  13. If the Bucks are able to resign Salmons is there any way that Hammond turns around and trades Maggette to one of the teams that loses out on the big free agents? If Hammond can turn Gadzuric and Bell and their bad contracts into Maggette and Maggette into a future draft pick they should just give him exec of the year for next year already. Maybe the Knicks, Nets, Timberwolves?
  14. I'm a little surprised that with 3 2nd round picks this year that the 2nd round for CDR is in 2012. Seems even more likely that with 4 picks that Hammonds will make another move if not 2. Even if they don't move Redd this team looks good.
  15. With Ichiro now over 3,400 hits between MLB and Japan combined... If he had played his entire career in America would he have eventually passed Pete Rose?
  16. Just curious about the rumored trade with the Heat... I can't find any info on it. Any links? What would the Bucks give up?
  17. Don't forget the tons of people trying to get there at the same time and all of the traffic. That said, it's the U.S. Open. People will deal with an hour of travel the day of to go to it. When the Super Bowl was here in Glendale, AZ they built hotels just for it. They have 7 years to do something about it.
  18. I'd like to see pitching on short rest incorporated in a study on pitcher abuse. I wonder how much that matters.
  19. Telly's interview with Carlos actually made the play on the field more confusing instead of providing any sort of information. I'm not sure Telly or Carlos speak english.
  20. It looks to me like the pitch was so far outside that if he actually made contact he would have been out of the batters box. Wouldn't that just result in him being out? I don't blame the guy for not making contact. He even admitted he messed up. I don't understand the criticism of the guy. He's a good guy that plays hard. How dumb of a decision is it to put the squeeze play on with a guy up to hit that hasn't been making good contact?
  21. He misplayed 2. One was a ball over his head that he lost in the sun. The other was a catchable ball that he didn't break in on until it was too late. He may have lost that one in the sun too.
  22. Again, I don't know how 4 runs in 5 innings (7.20 ERA) with 2 home runs is a good job... He pitched better than I expected. That's about the best compliment I can give him.
