Perhaps Vargas was worth keeping around and Parra was not ready or Villanueva should have been long relief? There is statistical evidence of what happens when Bush goes past 5. So Yost can either choose to leave him in to start the 6th and give up a few runs and let the bullpen come in with 1 out or he can replace Bush prior to the inning started. It's a difference of 1 or 2 outs so I don't see why it benefits the team to send him back out there...
This was so much easier to take a few years back... but now it's so painful. I think Yost is just the type of manager that can inspire and get more from a young team with low expectations. He's just not the type that can take a team who is expected to win and actually win.
THANK YOU! What's wrong with a 5th starter that gives you 5 good innings? Yost is doing the same thing with Bush that he did with Wes Obermueller. Can we call this Obermuellering?
It's bad when my girlfriend who knows nothing about baseball can identify that Bush should just pitch 5 innings... When will Yost see that? I'm done with him as manager. He's been inept long enough.
Could we just send Turnbow down to the minors and let him work it out there? If he gets claimed on waivers, that would be a good thing too... Someone help me out if there is a rule I'm overlooking here.
Looks like Sheets will be pushed back or miss a start, if Bush goes today, it makes sense for Gallardo to take Sheets spot. Just put him on the 15 day DL already so everyone knows when they are going to pitch.
I live in Arizona so it's not like I'm buying tickets but what is wrong with Brewer fans that we can't sell out the second home game of the year? This is a really good team and we've been waiting all winter to see them play. Get out there and watch them! Theres no reason for anything less than a weekend sell-out.
