  1. I can't wait for the first pitch, wish I could be at the game. I predict a 7-3 win for the crew tonight. I'm hoping for a sell out, loud and crazy crowd.
  2. If Branyan goes free agent do we get 2 more picks for him too?
  3. They are just grilling this guy. I kind of feel sorry for him. They should be thrilled with the job he did getting LaPorta for CC when CC was going to walk anyway.
  4. Come on Doug if you can't pronounce his name atleast know what his first name is. We are real close to a Bill Parcells like "the player, And that"
  5. I just love the idea of this huge trade and all Mark A. can think about is how many times DM says and that. This is crazy, I never noticed how Doug talks And That, adds a whole new dimension to listening to his press conferences And That, makes me happy you know?
  6. interesting Mark says "we would have had Matt for 6 years"... kind of shows how they look at things. Maybe?
  7. Anyone getting the press conference yet? I still have this mlb tv thing going
  8. Incase anyone still thought the Brewers may resign Sabathia... From TH's article on jsonline.com Reason to act quickly The non-waiver trade deadline is not until July 31, but the Brewers figured the sooner they got Sabathia, the more starts they could get from him. They have no illusions of preventing him from leaving as a free agent after the season, another reason they didn't want to part with an additional high-level prospect. There is also a financial component to adding Sabathia to the roster. The Brewers will have to pay nearly half of his $11 million salary, boosting their payroll near the $90 million level. http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=769685

  10. I think a lot of people are over looking things when they try to figure out how we could pay Sheets and or Sabathia. Like the fact that Prince can go to salary arbitration other guys will be in line for raises. I don't claim to know much about our payroll or what the team will do but it would be a miracle to keep either Sheets or Sabathia. They won't ever get both.
  11. I was born in 83, I've never been more excited, I can't wait for Tuesday night! Now lets get another arm or two and watch the Cubs freak out!
  12. If it really is Laporta, Zach Jack, Bryson, and ptbnl... Great trade
  13. Is it a definite thing that if we get CC and let him walk that we let Sheets walk too? If we can afford him, this shows him we are serious about winning, why would he want to leave? I think if the resign him we can still compete next year regardless of what happens with CC.
  14. I think it all comes down to... Can Gamel and Laporta play on the same big league team or are they both going to be first basemen at some point? In the back of my mind I think the Brewers are content to go to arby with Prince for 3 years before they move him.
  15. I see it more as a Twins approach. I think most people would be more comfortable if we fell out of contention and dealt Sheets to keep "building for the future" as that is what we have been doing for so many years. Not that anyone would enjoy that more, just be more comfortable because if we take a shot this year and don't win... then what? It seems like taking a shot this year and then getting all of those draft picks, moving prince for a "Sheets type" inserting Gamel at first and having another wave of young talent coming up to play with Braun, Hart, Hardy (or whoever DM considers his core to build around) gives us a second window instead of just one shot. It reminds me of the Braves only we are yet to win anything. (edit: long nested quote --1992)
  16. can we throw in nick neugebauer and j.m gold too?
  17. 3:47 AM in Phoenix, 5:47 in Milwaukee... I'm still checking the internet to see if something got done. Doug just get this over with so I can sleep!
  18. Dillon is not better defensively than Weeks, sorry just don't believe that one.
  19. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3473815 Considering Yost's comments to the media this year and then doing the opposite with his lineup it looks like we will have CC soon. Yost says its just a rumor and when asked where CC would fit in our rotation he says CC is not on our team.
  20. Cleveland's not going to care about our inability to resign CC. They just want whatever they can get. Everyone over values their own players anyway.
  21. Which one of those pitchers do you think is at the tail end of their career? Both are in their prime. Also in Jayson Starks' Rumblings and Grumblings he says that CC's family and friends say he isn't the type of guy to fight for every last dollar.
