  1. Yep, package Burnes with Yelich to move his contract then reload by tradi. Woodruff, Peralta, Hader and Houser for prospects and we’ll see ya in 2026 when they compete for the division 2026 is optimistic.
  2. The Brewers would fit right into the Dead Ball Era. Lowest team BA ever Washington in 1888 at 0.208. Brewers team BA = 0.212.
  3. This is the dead ball era II. Lowest team BA Washington 0.208 in 1888. Brewer’s 2021 BA = 0.212.
  4. The point I was attempting to make was the Brewers should do everything in their power to obtain some bats, considering the current state of their offense. This might be one of the few opportunities for them to make some noise in the playoffs. I threw out a few names as possible targets as suggestions. What I find interesting is your comment on Miguel Sano. Yes, he is having an equally disappointing season as Hiura. However, he has had OPS's of 0.923 and 0.859 in 2019 and 2017 respectively. Sure he's overweight and injury prone, but that might prove he is obtainable. I do find it interesting that you brought up Kris Bryant's name. How is he any different from Story ("cost way too much" and is only available for "half a season of control") plus the fact that he plays in the same division as the Brewers.
  5. Exactly, why wait until this off-season. Waiting is not an option. We need to to find out what is available in trade TODAY!!!. With the probability of injuries or an off year waiting any amount of time could be disastrous. You have to hit while the iron is hot and the opportunity is great. We've all seen that our offence is historically bad after 25% of the season gone by and waiting for any of these players to get hot seems overly hopeful. Sure, Lutz, Ashby, Hiura, Mitchell, Turang, Small and Feliciano have promise, however remember the Yelich trade and how those prospects have turned out. What is the probability that any of these guys turn into stars much less starters? With the Rockies, Twins, Rangers and Diamondbacks struggling good players...starters are to be had. Kepler, Sano, Story, Cron, Culberson, Gallo, for example could be had if the price is right.
  6. The first time I recall a similar situation with the Milwaukee Brewers was Jim Slaton in 1978. Originally drafted by the Seatle Pilots he hit the ground running in 1971 as a promising starting pitcher with a 10-8 record. In 1977 he was traded to Detroit for Ben Oglivie during the winter meetings. He won 17 games for Tigers in 1978 and became a free agent after the season. He signed with the Brewers and won 15 games the next year. Jim was one of the first modern swingmen as he became a relief pitcher in 1981 and made several spot starts in 1982 when Pete Vukovich was injured. He won game 4 of the 1982 World Series and pitched in one other game.
  7. "Maybe you just don't really like baseball" Sounds like most people in this tread don't like baseball. I guess you're just caught up in the political climate. You make a generalization and assign it to anyone you don't agree with. If your going attack someone, KEEP IT TO YOURSELF. Not cool.
  8. I was really hoping to watch Oakland vs. Baltimore.
  9. Who cares. Not one of those teams interest me at all. Especially if they continue to play 4 hour games. BORING!! MLB should contract the number of teams to 20, as that is all that matters for the past 25 years, same group of teams all the time.
  10. I'm really tired seeing the same group of teams all the time. It was really nice and fun to see some new teams this year. And then guess what, all we have is the yankees, cardinals, giants and tigers. It would really serve MLB better by contracting to 20 teams, cuz that is all that really has competed for the last 25 years anyways.
  11. MLB playoffs....who cares. Same old teams. MLB really missed out bringing new blood in, why couldn't at LEAST one team frm Oak., Balt., Wash., or Cin. have moved on. Can't wait for a St.L. and N.Y. World Series.....BORING. I'll watch again in March. See ya.
  12. Yo just couldn't make it through 5 today, no matter how hard RR wanted him to get the win. And that's why we still need a #1.
  13. And boom goes the dynamite. If RR couldn't have seen this happening he's blind.
  14. I just don't think that RR has a very good handle on how to manage a pitching staff. Anyone who has watched the Brewers this year could see that Axford was going to fail after that first batter walked. As much as I dislike LaRussa, at least he had the balls to pull a pitcher after one batter. I've NEVER seen RR do this even when he's put in a LOOGY.
  15. All of them had problems staying healthy and only three of them would cost less than $8.5 million. Actually I count 7 pitchers from that list that are less than $8.5 million.
  16. The problem with this line of thinking is that no one wants Loe, Veras, Maysonet, or the other host of AAAA players we have in a trade
