  1. There is a decent chance that Adames, Burnes, and Hoskins all get the Brewers an extra pick in the 2025 draft. I believe that is also a year when their competitive balance pick is right after the first round. They could have a massive pool of money to sign high upside high school players like they did this last year.
  2. I've been mentally preparing myself for him joining Stearns in New York next year ever since I heard he was going play out the year as a lame duck.
  3. I think it might make sense to hold onto all the starting pitchers until spring training and wait for the inevitable injuries. A guy like Houser or Lauer could look a whole lot better in mid march to a team that just lost one of their top guys. Or the Brewers could have injuries and they could need them.

  5. Is there a chance in the long term that this really helps the Brewers? If local broadcasting is folded into MLB.tv it could mean a more equal cut of the money.
  6. Houser, Ashby and Peralta could all do some swing work in order to limit innings. When guys inevitably get hurt they can soak up more innings. That multi inning bullpen weapon is something the team has missed since...Drew Pomeranz?
  7. When you have a catching prospect who is well regarded enough that he needs to be protected from the rule 5 draft, then you have a tricky timeline. It's not uncommon for a catcher to take until his late 20s to develop. This is a problem for every team, but it means there are a lot of semi developed guys available to mold with big league level coaching.
  8. It would be cool if they just went forward with the guys they have now. Maybe option one of Wiemer or Frelick to the minors. Kind of like when they decided to just keep Burnes, Woodruff, and Peralta in 18/19. I understand why they wouldn't though, because that's a bigger risk. They will probably at least grab a right fielder
  9. I like this move because the brewers and guardians seem very similar philosophically wrt hitting and it's working well for cleveland. Mario might end up being good but Miller could play in milwaukee right now. They're always churning out new catchers quero can be the new one to dream on.
  10. Just learned that Toro still has an option which makes me like this trade about 5 percent more.
  11. Again this is a rose tinted view. Garrett Mitchell is a lock defensively and Chourio and Frelick are more fringy according to every neutral prospect evaluation I've seen. People also need to accept that Frelicks lack of power is a concern. Big league defenses are better and you can't slap singles and run out grounders like you can in the minors. Frelick propped up his average with that. I think he's a nice prospect, but he's no sure thing.
  12. I don't think Frelick plays center over Mitchell. If I had to guess, I bet Frelick gets moved for a catcher this winter. If they see him and chourio as primary left fielders in the bigs it might be a smart time to sell high.
  13. Are we gonna do this every year when the Brewers aquire some roster depth? You don't use nine players for the whole season.
  14. With balanced schedules coming this year they made sure Houser wouldn't have to face him. Smart.
  15. basically none lol. it's very easy to look up players salaries
  16. At the very least this is a better upside play than Andrew Mccutchen I think we can at least agree on that.
  17. Winker feels like a good guy to target. Could be a middle of the order type bat for cheap if it pans out. Hes probably the primary DH.
