There is a decent chance that Adames, Burnes, and Hoskins all get the Brewers an extra pick in the 2025 draft. I believe that is also a year when their competitive balance pick is right after the first round. They could have a massive pool of money to sign high upside high school players like they did this last year.

I think it might make sense to hold onto all the starting pitchers until spring training and wait for the inevitable injuries. A guy like Houser or Lauer could look a whole lot better in mid march to a team that just lost one of their top guys. Or the Brewers could have injuries and they could need them.

Is there a chance in the long term that this really helps the Brewers? If local broadcasting is folded into MLB.tv it could mean a more equal cut of the money.

Houser, Ashby and Peralta could all do some swing work in order to limit innings. When guys inevitably get hurt they can soak up more innings. That multi inning bullpen weapon is something the team has missed since...Drew Pomeranz?

When you have a catching prospect who is well regarded enough that he needs to be protected from the rule 5 draft, then you have a tricky timeline. It's not uncommon for a catcher to take until his late 20s to develop. This is a problem for every team, but it means there are a lot of semi developed guys available to mold with big league level coaching.

It would be cool if they just went forward with the guys they have now. Maybe option one of Wiemer or Frelick to the minors. Kind of like when they decided to just keep Burnes, Woodruff, and Peralta in 18/19. I understand why they wouldn't though, because that's a bigger risk. They will probably at least grab a right fielder
