  1. Got me there, I thought Skenes started opening day. Taking each of first 5 career start, it's quite similar. You can argue Skenes total stats when Miz' sample size grows.
  2. By the time Miz completes his year, that will be the equivalent of Skenes workload last season. in another lost season, Pittsburgh wouldnt be any further behind with 1 more, possibly 2 years added to their window. That's sorta the in division trade off. Skenes 3 seasons with Milw(clearly traded final offseason) and Pirates 4-5 seasons having Miz. So they better their chances vs Milw in the division when Skenes departs.
  3. And Milwaukee offered Miz. Who else does Milwaukee need to add? My thinking on why Mil or Pitts agrees for this. Skenes will complete his 2nd year of team control. Miz for the moment will complete below 1 year team control. Skenes had a combined 30 GS and 160.1 IP last season between majors/minors. Miz had 97 IP last season and will be up against innings limit sooner than later. With the Brewers, Skenes could pitch through the playoffs vs sitting at home end of regular season. With the Pirates, they gain an added 1-2 seasons of an Ace controlled. Who says no?
  4. Statcast doesn't give a good look on Wilson. It is glaring how good Wilson is at making contact with 90% contact swinging in the zone. I don't think I've ever seen it above 90. That contact is at 85.3 avg exit velo. Another never seen before of his 10HR, only Oak has the expected 10. Every other stadium had lower expected HRs with Pitt at 4 and Texas at 5 the two lowest. Milw at 8. Has 1 batted ball opposite field that reached warning track. Strictly pull hitter, Shift would eat him up. Performance at the moment another Joey Ortiz on his rookie season. Huge pass because the upside isn't there.
  5. Do some here not see Made at #7 and certainly headed to top 3 with more experience? I don't want Otto. Another 5-10 hitter who's 26, may have 0 options and doesnt improve the power outage the team has. Neto is 24 and having another 24 or more HR season. Also has the 4.5 if not 5 years team control. Replaces the weakness of SS hitting and slg. If you somehow kept Ortiz, he's a better defensive replacement than Monestario. Both at SS and 3b.
  6. I mentioned this earlier this year that Priester ditched the FB and throws a Cutter. It was something that must have been identified to be a path to success. Sinker/slider and cutter mixed with showing curveball. I wouldn't want to sell the high you think he's at. He's sorta the one (aside from Woodruff) that can give you 7 IP if needed. They didn't need it tonight with a rested bullpen. Give the Brewers an offseason to craft more between his top 3 pitches. Then see what his high is.
  7. Digging around a few articles about the Yankees discovering him, to leading their minors 2023 season with 183 wrc+. Kinda feels like a guy they wont trade cheap. The small sample platoon split this season vs lefties is 680 OPS He's got late bloomer vibes. 1b/DH positional home only. Prime Age. LH bat is the better side to be a platoon. Worth an attempt even if Patrick starts the talks.
  8. If there's been 0 talk about the Brewers having an interest in Suarez, I'd expect there's nothing there. Durbin has raised his OPS from 501 to 711 since May 20th. I don't think Suarez fits the team with Durbin's growth and the cost to acquire. The weakness is SS.
  9. Statcast shows Patrick about mid and Rice in multiple reds. He's 11th in EV has an xBA of .295. Say bye to Hoskins, send the Wilken too. 1b of future. DH when Yelich time is up. Thats a higher ceiling at 26 than Patrick's 26.
  10. Miz had 97 pro innings pitched last season. He's at 89 or 90 including All Star game. Will Milw put him in the bullpen after another start or 2? What's his limit going to be? 130-140? Do they just give him starts til like reaches 140 and end his season? This could leave him short on RoY voting because lack of starts. The Brewers will have to put him in the bullpen if they want an innings limit to reach the postseason.
  11. I think Mitchell being done for the year, is a DFA when needed. Reassign him to AAA. I assume he's a 60day IL and not affecting the 40man. I don't know how the 40man spot is affected come offseason? But if needed on Rule 5 protection or drafting, Brewers should remove him off it.
  12. Thank you. I didn't study the contract situations they have but just now looking: Angels have only had 5 Starters starting games this season. 😲, Tyler Anderson and Kenley Jenson are FAs after this season. So giving 1 of the mid rotation starters could help an Anderson trade. Jansen the same for Yoho. Ortiz would be a buy low/placemat til Pratt was fully ready(ideally this time next year). Angels send Ortiz in a future trade . Neto sounds like a better Adames SS bat. 25-30HRs yearly. Of course you can trade him again to return some of what it cost to get him. 4 years? Of team control. I might be low on the offer depending which pitcher you'd send.
  13. I'm starting talks with the Angels giving up Ortiz, Yoho, and Pratt for Neto. They can find a pitcher to send too. Henderson, Myers, or Priester.
  14. That secures him when naming him Rookie of the Year. If his odds aren't top 3 already, put that bet down. He wiped the floor not only against Kershaw but Paul Skenes already. It's more than deserved. Now does Freddy and Jacob pitch 2 innings with McGill 1, to close the game out? 5 innings covered by Brewers?
  15. Not at all interested in trading Freddy. That would be clubhouse suicide. Can't get the extension worked out, sure take trade offers in the offseason.. not a chance I'd trade him this deadline.
  16. I don't recall who I thought hit a HR similar in swing style as Braun earlier this season, but that Collins HR swing had a resemblance moments ago.
  17. Just checked his game logs for season, Only 1 game had 4 runs scored while on the mound. Having himself a very good year.
  18. Ortiz is in the wrong swinging 1st pitch bases loaded after consecutive walks before him. Low 1/3 of the plate is not the pitch to drive, thats the pitch to? GiDP like he did. Gotta wait for better pitch just have to.
  19. The thought on 1b was to keep him healthy. I fear that one diving catch or bang against the wall sends him on the IL. It's just like Yelich when he was needing games off, but 1b never became a thing. Collins has stepped up to remain an option. Perkins is returning. Frelick and Chourio. Yelich with DH. Just curious for his protection from reinjury to try 1b. Wilken was injured recently that should delay his progress. Hoskins isn't guaranteed to be here. I forgot about Vaughn, but he's a non tender candidate. Black I dunno what his future is. I'm not familiar on Martinez. I would like to see Mitchell play. I fear his health and depth chart for the OF. Just a thought to give him another option. I'll end responding to any other comments on the idea. Do add any thoughts, I'll read them. To the two commenter above this. Yeli to 1b has been a topic multiple years. It's not happening.
  20. And that would be who next season? Is by plenty inferring to 1 of Rhys Hoskins?
  21. Before the key word. I'm asking for after. These injuries revolve to shoulder. So is it to throwing arm? Or catching arm? Diving at balls in the OF or crashing in to a wall bring catching arm in to play. Throwing the ball back from warning track brings the throwing arm in to play. Will either of those, make him susceptible to reinjury? Especially seeing as a slide in to 1st did.
  22. Would Mitchell be a target to move to 1b? Next season of course.
  23. Oh my. Not Super 2 Avoidance! Shame on the crew. They must be the only team that does this. Have the guy find a team that has never done this. And this guy's next piece on Misiorowski will be laughing at the Brewers because he won NL RoY. Sorry little miffed because like 80% of comments from highlights of Miz thus far, are TJ this year, TJ soon, won't be a Brewer is 1-2 seasons.
