  1. Any day now. Both Williams and Pratt with elite laat 10 game OPS. I think it was Williams with 3 HRs last 10 games. Pratt with 1. Since Pratt is signed just promote him the sooner the better. You can option him for Williams as Super 2 timeline passes. Also if Pratt is looking over-matched. Look at it this way. Ortiz is 2 months away from turning 28. Crew acquired him as he approached his baseball prime. This is it. 0 XBH nearly his last 2 calendar months playing. Pratt is 21 turning 22 in less than 4 Months. He's had a better recent 2 weeks. If he had gone to College he's on his 1st calandar year at professional baseball. He's signed, baby him after he does a stint at the major league levels. Get Williams a chance soon too. Bump up the power. I counted 450AB with 0 HRs from Rengifo, Hamilton, Ortiz, Lockridge, and Perkins heading in to today's game. Seen some hate on Frelick, but hes up to 3 HRs now.
  2. Our biggest weakness is Joey Ortiz' bat. Adding up his ABs this year and going back to last season- Ortiz has 1 double in 177ABs. There's a triple in those 177ABs. Its been 87games and counting since a HR.
  3. This is a no. We have bodies. We dont have 165IP starters. Priester was the one to count on 165IP. He has just as much as chance to return as I'd assume needing TJ and not returning for 15months yet. We need the depth. Trade deadline moves will be needed.
  4. Let's watch this clip from MLB as they announced Milw's 6th rd selection. Then listen to the gushing remark to explain the upside seen.https://www.mlb.com/video/brewers-draft-ss-pratt-no-182 Yeah that hmm former #1
  5. Good thing he'll wear a hat/helmet when playing. I read Pratt is a Boras client. So what's Pratt's price after any 1+ WAR ability is displayed in the Majors? Pratt is the opposite of below 6' hitters to project. He fills out and gets more experience does he become a bigger power hitter in the Adames mold? Put mildly, Pratt is younger than Frelick when drafted. Playing games now at AAA. I hope this continues as a success story for Milwaukee. Last, could Pratt fill in at 1b for Vaughn's IL stint? Edit well Pratt is a little older than Frelick's drafted age, but its close maybe 120-140 days.
  6. Whenever I've done it, barely any Brewer games I was allowed to watch if any since my first year on the phone subscription. I generally just follow along on the GameDay feed. I think I could watch replays of the games, but when I know the result defeats the purpose.
  7. The Brewers extended a Qualifying Offer to Woodruff. The price for it was 22M. The injury in 2023 to end his season put him out all of 2024. We got 12 starts from him last season returning from the injury that kept him out all of 24. Among Brewer starters last year he was 5th in BWar. Among them he was 2nd in Fip behind Logan Henderson's 5 game total. Makes him 1st at 10GS or more. When on the mound he's worth far more than 22M. The QO set that price. The acceptance odds by Woodruff vs not accepting was more than likely seen by the front office to lean towards not accepting. Woodruff is taking a bigger risk doing so gambling on himself and the health that he can throw 150+ IP leading to a non-restricted FA. There's no doubt he would have been offered over 50M for 3-4 seasons had he declined the offer. Gotta run with his confidence a 30GS season is possible and that FA contract starts with 40 something Million a year.
  8. Nothing wrong with this. Definitely want Woody around for postseason. Also the team has like 8 capable starters right. Take advantage of that before it dwindled to 5. Priester is very deserving to get OD where you can promote the long stretch of wins Brewers had when started.
  9. Im on a B/B- I like the Peralta and Durbin deals as a whole. Im not as high on the Zerpa trade. Brewers OF construction with Mitchell returning I'd have wanted Perkins being dealt over Collins. Zerpa has 8 career starts in last 3 years. If the Brewers turned him in to a Starter it's strictly as a 1st through 3rd inning starter. I dont think I seen a 100 IP professional season for him. Williams looks like a solid addition. I just dont see the team as having took a step back. Im excited to see Woodruff out there. On the mound he's top 15 maybe top 20 in the game with the recent SPs entering the league.
  10. Rengifo's career splits show him above 800 OPS batting 1st, 3rd, and 4th while below 700 OPS 6, 7, & 8, and below 600 OPS for 9th. Clearly platoon vs LHP or Pinch hit vs lefties. Is Hamilton better vs RHs? Having looked indeed Hamilton's splits are better for him vs RHP throughout his professional career. Nothing in 800s but above 700 for most part.
  11. The pitching staff makes it through Spring Training without a significant injury. Sproat is an Opening week SP who lays claim to a top 2 RoY.
  12. The 5 best who make it through Spring Training healthy.
  13. Let's give a half season of games before speculating. We could see some answer right in ST. A thing with Quero's CS could simply be he's 2 seasons removed from the group of minor leaguers he was progressing with. Learning with new pitchers on the spot. What if he was advised to take it easy when throwing? The 1 thing we dont want to see is reinjury, especially in a winter league.
  14. Brewers still have team control. FA offseason would be 2028 to get ability on a QO.
  15. Looking at Hamilton's savant, I dont see how the Brewers would start him Opening Day. He just looks like Monesterio with bigger speed but less power. Doesn't appear a better defender. Team control between the 2 nearly the same. Well I should say service time. There's gotta be some geriatric 3b they sign or they see Williams as an opening day rookie. Brings the question, as a rookie to qualify for draft pick, is it just on OD roster? Or OD starter? Would he be required an X amount of games as starter? Ortiz was a +defender at 3b. If we're going to be starting Williams&Ortiz on left side, I'd hope they fill it via what the combined +defense would be in regards where Williams plays.
  16. I just posted a savant view of Durbin and Ortiz in the Durbin trade thread. Viewing Paredes savant, he's not much more impressive. 92 career HRs look like 73 HRs in Milwaukee. 72 in ChC 95 in Cin, and just 57 and 56 in Pittsburgh and StL.. Thats quite the reduction on what youre looking for him to provide within the division. He's a 2-3 WAR player. Wouldn't consider any of Brewers top 10 if not top 15 rated prospects.
  17. I was pondering Durbin's season. I remember it wasn't glaring on Savant. To remind that savant: Then there's Ortiz' 2024 savant. One could think, the emerging group in the minors, that a down season by Durbin, like Ortiz last season, would cripple his value and with the promotions forthcoming, Durbin wouldn't get a redemption chance to regain his value. 27' strike potential that group in the minors arent being held back any more. Trading Durbin at his highest ceiling with team control, with the defense knowledge he brings currently....This move has an anti Ortiz 25 season avoiding a complete loss on value when pondering it.
  18. Agreed as Quero needs to prove he can catch at least 100 games in a season. Though I wouldn't be shocked after trading 3 3b he is a backup C used for PH abs. He has some pop.
  19. This looks better on the Brewers side looking back on pipeline years Harrison was SF's #1 prospect in 23&24. You can go to the SFG team rankings for 2022-2024 i read his bio where one year called him to head the future Giants rotation. Gotta figure the lab within Milw identifies his top 2 or 3 pitch types to use and ditch or change at least one of his types that aren't as effective. I think his max professional season IP are upper 120s near 130. That would align him with Misiorowski and Sproat. Gotta like a 3 headed rotation to align with 0 SP inning limitations after this season.
  20. I'd say the idea on Ortiz playing 3b with Williams SS has to consider is Jett a better SS than 3b defensively? Im amazed we used another draft pick for trade. That Murphy who couldnt gush more about Durbin when we traded for him is already traded away. I do like who we got back simply because I like ceiling potential in trades. The 2 pitchers feel like having a higher ceiling than Durbin. How does this trade affect 40man?
  21. With 6 picks now in top 86, StL will have a big cash pool for a #13 1st pick. Or to use on their 2nd-4th picks.
  22. I think they cant give good projections since the Brewers turnover their roster due to team Control and a lack of 3+year Free Agent signings. Oddly enough docking Yelich due to age regression. By the time they have the book on a Brewer 3rd-4th year playing, he's traded before becoming a Free Agent. The skill with finding RPs for the season, or even 1 week can't be projected.
  23. I think the minors signing and non roster invite is much ado about nothing. It could just easily be they did this for the players to get ready for the season and advertise for another team. I'd guess the contract has a date to be added to ML roster or they can opt out after such amount of days has passed. ST is like 2+ teams playing 1-3 innings to start. Add Split Squad two games on 1 day these players have a purpose.
  24. HS players drafted early get that rep. Unless you're in a big market, then post poor numbers and still be top 40. The ceiling projection changes if the knock on the HS prospect seems to creep in after a season or 2. You expect some body filling out and harder hit balls or HR power to show up, but Warning Track Power(hi) or k issues, it's time for the next draft/int signing class to jump ahead in ranking. I could easily see Williams as Opening day SS over Ortiz. Like Sproat, being ranked qualifies him for Roy draft pick compensation. So the conversation on Pratt in AAA or AA wouldn't matter. Monasterio's days has to be numbered. If they put Williams on Opening day roster, I'll guess he becomes a late RP trade for a team needing a 3b/SS backup.
  25. You'll notice it's always pre season ranks. So there are chances they could peak higher mid-season while being promoted after Super 2 date and graduating off prospect lists. But yes, this is the way to quickly find rankings if listed preseason. I think Hall or Ortiz kinda missed the preseason ranks. Or there was a Brewers call up that missed the preseason ranks and lost prospect status who had climbed to a mid-season ranking.
