It's going to suck when Davis comes back if he and Wolf continue to get hit around and a guy like Narveson or Parra are in the pen and someone in the pen is off the team or in AAA.
True, my hope is Gamel improves his throws since he clearly has the range. McGehee shouldn't be any worse then Fielder is at 1B. Lawrie seems to be a good enough athlete to quickly learn the OF.
What do you think about this for an opening day lineup in 2012? Would you change the order? Do you have different players in mind? With the way things are going I would like to think that Weeks will be extended moving Lawrie to the OF and Fielder traded for some pitching so McGehee moves to 1B and Gamel sticks at 3B. 1. Lorenzo Cain - CF 2. Rickie Weeks - 2B 3. Ryan Braun - LF 4. Mat Gamel - 3B 5. Casey McGehee - 1B 6. Brett Lawrie -RF 7. Jonathan Lucroy - C 8. Alcides Escobar - SS 9. Yovani Gallardo - P
He went through a little slump and does strike out a fair amount. But I still think they should extend him. He has had a very solid year so far. Maybe when and if they do extend Weeks, Lawrie goes to the OF.
Amen to that. He is not helping himself get that big deal he and Boras dream of. And he sure is heck is not helping the Brewers get good trade value for him. Awful defense and a pathetic 27 RBI.
Well it all worked out. Guess I can't complain too much. Another good outing for Parra, what is that 4 in a row? He really seems to be turning a corner.
I mean I like Braddock and got faith in him. But why pull Parra here? Let him get Thome. Parra has pitched well, I think he deserved the chance to complete 6 innings.
