  1. Love pick! Same with Giannis pick, take the guy you think has the biggest chance to be a star. Sounds like entire Bucks staff was blown away by Maker. Needs to add a lot of strength but kid can shoot & defend! When that arena is opened, hopefully Maker is starting to really click.
  2. This is just laughable to me when the disappointment discussion about any of these 3 kids begin. It is FAR to early to make a ruling on any of them of if they were a mistake to pick & when we did..... Especially Kodi. These kids are all 20 years old and are/have been young for there leagues. Kodi literally just turned 20 and is in A+ (one of the top 3 youngest players I believe in FSL). Yes, we all wish they came out and shattered all expectations and are Top 10 prospects in Milb but that's not realistic. Overall, stuff wise, Kodi is absolutely filthy. He was picked at 12 because arms like his can't be taught. His life in his arm is elite. As I have said since he signed, his issue is he is a "thrower" & not a "pitcher." The hope when Brewers took him at 12 is that their staff could teach him to harness his stuff & become a pitcher. Moreover, Brewers are being very aggressive with him, so they must think highly enough him. This isn't an over aggressive front office /player development team.... Reason why many of us complain about placements & how conservative many of them were. Yet, he was still brought up to BC at 19. In Brewers eyes, doubt they as down on him as many of you are
  3. Ellenson would not be a good match for this team. It'd be great to have a big stretch the court the way he could HOWEVER once again, we need bigs who can defend the basket. Poeltl is pegged to be a guy who has ability to defend the basket. He also has offensive potential. I'm all for Wade Baldwin Jr. Think he is a solid combo guard to replace MCW ( WBJr can actually shot). Trade to get extra 1st to take the upside/ceiling of Thon Maker
  4. In theory Monroe was a great sign that everyone loved. Finally gave the Bucks a center who can provide offense. In reality, he just isn't a fit for what this team needs. As I said all last season, we need that DeAndre Jordan type athletic, defensive center who can run floor & finish at rim. Plumlee fits good as that but could still land someone better. D. Davis reminds me of Henson so no need to draft him... Already paying him 11million. You can not be a successful defense if in this scheme if your bigs can't switch and guard. Monroe can't.
  5. Nash Walters shows his displeasure for being held back with a dominant 4 IPs of 1 hit, no run, 1bb ( biggest thing for him), and 6ks baseball.
  6. Nash Walters shows his displeasure for being held back with a dominant 4 IPs of 1 hit, no run, 1bb ( biggest thing for him), and 6ks baseball.
  7. Oh that's not very exciting then. How does he sound?
  8. Brewers expected to sign more international prospects. Don't have subscription but for those who do, here's the link. http://www.baseballamerica.com/international/8-international-prospects-know-july-2/#YDdaWDJxIDdcJIFo.97
  9. Zack Clark is very interesting. Had a monster Junior season in High School then an injury cost him his senior year. Goes to CC & earns scholarship to Alabama. Great size and tools. He'd be a nice sign for sure. McClanahan really going to need around 1 million?
  10. Isn't he 6'2 (and solidly built)? At 16 when signed.....He pretty much signed as a high school sophomore so far from tapped out. You look at pictures and he towers over guys. Juan Ortiz is starting to interest me.
  11. What's Ray's deal? How far could they be? Is he really pushing for overslot or what? All these savings need to go to our 11th pick & hopefully Ray goes for 4-4.1 million to give us a little more to get that signing done. In a slotted system, negotiations shouldn't really take too long.
  12. Monte Harrison continues his June tear! This is the Monte that we all expected. Nottingham's May & June has been outstanding and as advertised.
  13. Yeah I posted my personal rankings in another trend but I disagree with a lot on this list. For some reason I always dislike Bleacher Report for minor league and draft rankings. In my eyes, Ray is only one who should make the list. Our system is too deep for guys to just pop in with no track record and be rated high. Ray is the exception to me because he is 21, advanced, has a large amount of tools, and a high enough ceiling. Ergec, Burns, and Webb could push the edge of the top 10 by end of the season but not now. The thought that Burns is already higher than Ponce and Diplan is laughable in my eyes. That's not even considering Kirby, D. Williams, K. Mederois, F. Peralta, B. Woodruff, and some of the other risers such as Ventura, Supak, Burkhalter, Perrin, and etc. This is simply BR doing the usual, post draft hype. Days of 2-3 of our top picks becoming top 5-10 prospects in our system are gone. Top 10 prospects in our system: To me Ray goes no higher than #5, I think top 4 should be pretty set with a combination of Arcia, Hader Phillips, Lopez. From 5-10 a combination of Nottingham, Ray, Clark, Lara, Ponce, Diplan Just missing but has a case: Isan Diaz Outside of those top 11 rest is kind of a crap shot and full of personal preference. A lot will change between now and Mid Season/ Trade deadline as well as end of the season. For instance if Harrison keeps up his June performance for rest of the summer and is able to cut down his K%, he very well could be back in the Top 10. Same as Mederois. if he bounces back and turns it on in 2nd half of season as youngest arm in league, he can jump back. Ercog comes out like a Lou Palmisano with more Power.....He could make a leap. Webb is 2nd coming of Ben Sheets and proving it, he could jump. As of today though.... I'm confident that those 11 players listed above are our top guys.
  14. Was healthy and in camp all Spring..... They never once played him. Speculation only but his rapid weight gain (in fall 305) may have put him in dog house. He is too good not to play, doesn't make sense
  15. Agreed, we really need to move away from talking Tigers unless there is a third team because Tigers have a bottom 5 system in baseball. If DS takes any deal with the Tigers, he backed off of his price and lowered it 1st come, first serves, regardless of what you have to offer. Beau Burrows and Christian Stewart need to come back. Don't think either fall in our top 10. Hill would be in the 20-30 range. No one else cracks top 30 outside of maybe Jones at like a 28-30. Id take Jimenez in relief. Alexander would be alight Moye offers no more than Santana. I get the Norris thoughts to boost it but if we are going prospects instead, at least one needs to be good enough to fall in our top 10 after deal
  16. One for record I'm again Braun Trade unless it is just something unbelievable with eating ton of salary..... There is absolutely nothing impressive enough that Giants can offer, I'm not a fan of their system at all
  17. I have a feeling Coulter will get hot soon and up his stock. Think if he started in AA, he wouldn't have struggled as much in Biloxi. Still think potential is there too much for Coulter.
  18. To me Ray would still behind a few guys, due to them being proven & close in age....similar ceiling. 1. Josh Hader 2. Orlando Arcia 3. Brett Phillips 4. Jorge Lopez 5. Jacob Nottingham I think those are pretty clear cut top 5 (my opinion) all are AA, have had good production, are 21-23, and have great ceilings. I know Phillips average & Ks have shot up, Nottingham had absolutely brutal start, and Lopez has yet to find his dominant command in Colorado but they all I think are top 5. Ray could easily slot in at #6. Right now the 4 other guys I'd still slot in top 10 are 6. Corey Ray 7. Cody Ponce 8. Gilbert Lara 9. Trent Clark 10. Marcos Diplan Rest of these guys are 11-25 in my opinion (not in order) Isan Diaz Kodi Mederios Jake Gatewood Monte Harrison Devon Williams Freddy Peralta Clint Coulter Nathan Kirby Demi Orimoloye Luke Ergec Korbin Burns Brenden Webb Brandon Woodruff Michael Reed Miguel Diaz Taylor was pushed off, I honestly don't know if we will figure out AA. Unlike Coulter, he doesn't have a major tool or tools to keep him on list. While disappointing, Coulter still has plus power & his Arm is unbelievable
  19. @helenabrewers has been posting & retweeting information & pics for this years team. Gentry Fortuano is your opening day starter. Demi O, Segovia, and Lara are all there. Couldn't make out rest of players in picture off top of my head.
  20. He is just unhittable, if he can just keep those walks down and attack the zone, he is going to be special. He was ugly shape in 3rd inning & really pulled it back together to get through 6.
  21. All those guys have high BB/PA as well When I look at Ks I care most about percentage over K/9. If I'm targeting a pitcher, I prefer them to be around 25%+ K/AB.
  22. Going to be VERY interesting to see how these teams will shake out with how college heavy draft was. Helena was already set with some very good prospects in mix. This Arizona team may end up like the Jason Rogers championship team in like 2010. College heavy, filled with former DSL kids & a few HS draft picks. I don't see any of the 4 HS pitchers signing. Two of them already said they are going to college. Other two are mid 20s picks & we will have to see. You look at Helena and you got 1B Perry if he's out of dog house 2B Mallen SS Lara CF Segovia RF Demi O OF Y. Martinez, N. Pierre C Taylor & Antencio SP Walters, Lindell, Fortano So Here are most likely Helena Candidates imo 1B T. Perry & R. Gideon 2B F. Mallen & T. York SS Gibert Lara & T. Morrison 3B L. Erceg & W. Wilson LF T. Stokes (replaced with Ray) CF J. Segovia RF D. Orimoleye OF Y. Martinez, J. Ortiz & Z. Clark SP Walters/Lindell SP Burns/ Webb SP Fortano/ Fox SP Brown/Brown SP Jankins/ V. Diaz
  23. No one has mentioned it yet but LHP Blake Lillis was the #2 pitcher on his high school team.... #1 was Riley Pint
  24. Only 10 games, but appears Monte is starting to click a bit! Still WAY to many Ks & his BBs are down from where they should be. (In both rookie leagues he was over a 10% BB guy). I always compare him to Rickie Weeks and this is why! He can either be the worst or best player in the league for stretches. Like Weeks, there are stretches where they are unbelievable stars offensively. There are other stretches where they couldn't look any more lost at the plate.
