  1. I think it might be harder to sell season tickets without some personnel changes.
  2. "Broxie" is already at 20 pitches this inning. Clearly doesn't have it tonight, but RRR leaves him in. But he'll pull a reliever throwing seeds after a 10 pitch inning. Bye bye RRR.
  3. "Once". Not being adversarial - but having one of your best hitters bunt is just ignorant (RRR). http://i.imgur.com/0D6sv.gif That's hilarious. Well played.
  4. "Once". Not being adversarial - but having one of your best hitters bunt is just ignorant (RRR).
  5. It's interesting. Matheny brings in his "closer" in a tie game in the 9th - his team has a formidable lead in the division and they don't "need" a win. RRR brings in Jeffress with a tie game in the 10th - a game that is as "must win" as they come. But where is the "closer"?
  6. Awesome. Great pitching tonight - let's not forget Big Wily!
  7. Rodriguez's mechanics always look like Peralta's - when Peralta is over throwing.
  8. Wasted Kinzler for 1/3 of an inning. Who's next up in the "Wheel of Which Reliever Doesn't Have His Best Stuff"?
  9. Jeffress was at 18 pitches so likely couldn't make it through the inning And 3 lefties up in a row. Ron would be stupid to let Jeffress pitch, but then again this is Ron we're talking about. Ok - thanks for that. I still think a guy throwing 95+ negates a lot of the L/R match-up advantages. And 18 pitches is not a lot. Your mileage may vary.
  10. I can't wait until Rob Wooten or Wang Chung loses this game because RRR won't let his relievers pitch more than one inning.
  11. Jean needed to be given the take sign until the pitcher threw a strike. But, hey, WE'RE AGGRESSIVE.
  12. THIS. THIS. THIS. My number one issue with RRR. Most important game of the year (so far) and we waste Broxton. The absolute refusal to pitch a relief pitcher more than one inning (regardless of pitch count, effectiveness, etc.) has compounded over the season. If a pitcher comes in with an easy inning, LEAVE HIM IN. Don't roll the dice and bring in the "8th inning guy" or "the closer".
  13. Big Wily has pitched a good game tonight. I've always called him Wily (as in Coyote) in my mind.
  14. Joe West should only umpire games between the Cardinals and the Diamondbacks.
  15. I read today that the Giants were "99%" moving their AAA club to Sacramento. I was hoping Milwaukee might have had a shot here in Sacramento - great stadium and the River Cats have always had good attendance.
  16. The "aggressive" hitting approach is, in my mind, predominantly on DM. It's his organizational philosophy. If he wanted hitters with higher walk rates, he's draft and/or develop them. He is what he is.
  17. They need to do a cardboard picture of Wendy Selig-Prieb in the clubhouse.
  18. Only had 4 2/3 in. I agree, hope everything is good with Stanton - he's a monster talent.
  19. Well, yeah. The past 20 games have been completely on the starting pitching. It's really not a debatable point - it's right there for everyone to see. I'm making a larger point. $50 MILLION to Garza instead of developing your own pitching - your mileage may vary. I think Nelson will be more valuable in the next three years than Garza - you may think differently. I hope we're both right.
  20. No, RRR. Your starting pitching has taken a dump in the last 20 games. I truly don't understand this - the numbers are there for anybody with access to a computer. I don't know if there was a follow up, but that should have been the question. And we've put our best starting pitching prospect in the bullpen so Matt Garza can go 4 innings.
