  1. It's amazing to see two young, Brewer developed pitchers throw two great games in a row. I can't remember when that happened last. Jungmann won't be able to keep this up, but if he becomes a solid above average starter long-term it's a major win for the organization.
  2. It is hard to fathom just how badly Lohse and Garza have pitched.
  3. Jungmann has been a very nice surprise so far. If Peralta can return to form, and Nelson can take the next step the team's outlook looks dramatically better. It's a lot to ask for, though.
  4. Garza is just falling off a cliff. Hard to believe it's just a run of bad luck.
  5. Sounded like there were a couple of boos after Bumgarner's hit.
  6. That Garza signing is looking better and better every start.
  7. I'm watching the Giants' feed, and they had great angles. It's amazing that Davis even made it a question.
  8. My God, that's horrendous lineup. The last five hitters are all under .230.
  9. I would think the Dodgers would be interested in starting pitching. I have no idea what the Brewers could get in return for Garza or Lohse, but L.A. is really looking for starting pitching depth.
  10. I think that bullpen usage will be something to watch going forward. But if your "8th inning $9 million" reliever continues to sport an ERA north of 7...well, there's not a lot you can do. Bring up Wang? :-)
  11. Out first bat off the bench has a .000 average. Small sample, I know.
  12. He has pitched well this season, but I get nervous when he pitches. And it is good to get another win against a high quality team.
  13. You are absolutely correct - it's not my money. But, this is a small market team that needs to manage its resources wisely. And they just paid one year's salary (dead money) for 5 weeks of league worst managerial performance. These are the facts, and they are undisputed.
  14. "We gave Ron the extension in spring training hoping the players would have confidence to go out and perform, and win some games early," said Melvin. Inmates running the asylum - Melvin/Attanasio bet over $1M on "confidence".
  15. I haven't been a Roenicke supporter by any means. However, this is just rearranging deck chairs. The real issue (which has been discussed on bf.net for years) is the lack of pitching development and a defined long-term plan. There is one person responsible for baseball operations - Melvin. It's time for new leadership in the front office.
  16. I always follow along on GameDay. Whenever the "outs" notification pops up but GameDay takes a long time to refresh - I know there was a base running issue. I switch over to in game on bf.net to find out exactly what happened - the majority of the time it seems like it's "aggressive" base running.
