  1. Here is what they have in common: The MLB and NFL are professional sports leagues. Thats it, that's where the comparisons end. To compare MLB to the NFL is apples and oranges, as brought up previously in this very thread.
  2. http://mlb.si.com/2013/10/07/mlb-playoff-teams-payroll-rays-athletics-indians-pirates/ The average ranking of the 10 postseason teams is 14.7, an all-time low (as in higher numbers, lower ranking) — right at the middle of the pack, Meanwhile the average of those payrolls is just 6.8 percent above the average for all 30 teams.
  3. So Donnie essentially removed Gonzo and Hanley from this game, in order to bring in Dee Gordon and not run him.
  4. And if Gonzalez is on deck instead of Michael Young wonder if the Dodgers still walk Hanley.
  5. Mattingly strikes again. Taking Gonzalez out for a pinch runner in a tied game in the 8th.
  6. Awesome post I found: Cardinals are in the Illuminati. they sold their baseball souls for success. Stan Musial's ghost is the ring leader, and he hired the evil Tony Larussa to steady the ship. Tony Larussa's black magic, given to him by the over seeing Musial, was given a task to guide the Cardinals to great success. But the players would have to buy in and sell their souls too. Tony Larussa's black magic clouded the players minds and so they all sold their soul. They all gathered around in the clubhouse chanting Stan Stan he's our man if he can't do it La Russa's black magic can! That night they performed this ritual over and over again. Jeff Weaver did it every day because he was such a terrible player, he needed Stan's spirit with him all the time. The Blood Red Birds (that's their real names, known in there secret society) were successful from there on. Now Tony's gone, but Musial's presence is still strong, Matheny has his own witchcraft powers, and he and Stan make a deadly combination, looking to lead these poor possessed souls to another championship, a feat that would empower Matheny and Musial even more. Turning their black magic into a power so powerful, that it could give the Cardinals three championships in four years. It's all true how else do you explain David Freese, Matt Carpenter, and Allan Craig, "BLACK MAGIC" If that's not proof enough for you, why do you think Pujols left the TBRB's? Because he wanted a bigger contract? You can't believe that nonsense, Pujols saw the light, he wanted out of there, and of course who did he end up with? That's right the Angels. The good guys, Do you not see the correlation. Although the mighty Pujols was too great to be completely turned into an average player. Musial has cursed Pujols, which is why his numbers have plummeted, did you think it was age, haha give me a break. It was BLACK MAGIC. The Cardinals are an evil organization, and they can't fool the world. One day they will all be brought to justice. And they will all end up in the depths of baseball hell with Bud Selig, Arod, and Braun. But for now their reign continues, and newly upcoming Cardinal spawn of death Oscar Tavares is in the waiting, who was given some of Pujols talent from the curse, like Space Jam to rise up and become an evil Pujols.
  7. Based on the lack of media outrage no one seems to care. Apparently his PED use isn't tainting the record book and corrupting impressionable youth. Yea I know Cervelli and all his adamant denials with press conferences and such. Plus being a former MVP and one of the best players in the game. Oh, wait...
  8. Well it's not like they didn't have their chances. Missed opportunities.
  9. It's crazy that Jamey Wright at 38 is still in the big leagues. His last three seasons have been his best three seasons in his career.
  10. Cmon Oakland!!! Up 3-0 in the 5th. Through 31 innings the Tigers have scored in only 2 of them. Staily, the pitcher for Oakland has only thrown 41 pitches through 4 innings. Tigers offense gotta keep em down!
  11. What the heck was that?!?!? Two outs, runners on 2nd and 3rd with Reed Johnson up for the Braves. So..... Don Mattingly then brings in a pitcher out of the pen to intentionally walk Reed Johnson which loads the bases for Jason Heyward?! That was absolute horrible management.
  12. I believe worst to best in the same league, and then worst to first in the other league. What I don't know is whether they are using 2012 or 2013 records at this point in the season. I'd imagine it is this year. When guys are placed on waivers during the season it goes by current record so I would think it would be the same after the season. Doubt they would go back to a whole season before. I did read this though and agree with interleague play they should do it worst to first and quit the league designations:
  13. That would have been horribly unfair to the Rays. They play Sunday in Toronto, Monday tiebreaker in Texas, and then you want them to play Tuesday in Cleveland and Wednesday in Boston??? So 4 cities in 4 days? Umm, no.
  14. If Pujols was found to be juicing you can be damn sure the media will go crazy like the Braun and Arod treatment.
  15. Way to early to say that. Also, Archer has been atrocious the last month or so.
  16. http://blogs.laweekly.com/squidink/2013/05/low-sodium_diet_may_actually_b.php There's actually plenty of info that suggests too little salt is harmful.
  17. Ok I found it!!! Blackjackinfo.com. A lot of great info on that site as well as a strategy trainer.
  18. Man I used to go to this great BJ website but cant think of what it was. They allowed you to pick the number of decks and all that stuff. It was a learning site and I got into it. I was real big into BJ a couple years ago, even started counting and got into how to use different strategys depending on the count. I bought a BJ book as well as had a special BJ deck. I never ened up going big time like some guys do but I raked in a good amount of cash in a year or so visiting different casinos in the state. I will try and find the site if I can.
  19. White flag Michael Gonzalez.
  20. Only a few teams in MLB make less than 20 million a year on local TV. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/dodgers-send-shock-waves-through-local-tv-landscape/
  21. http://chriskresser.com/shaking-up-the-salt-myth-the-dangers-of-salt-restriction I dont know if this applies to your situation but salt restriction has actually shown to cause more issues. Too little salt can be as bad as too much.
