  1. I figure it's just me, but I seriously can barely watch the NFL anymore. Between the ridiculous number of commercial breaks, to the horribly called officiating, and the NFL wanting to expand to London I just cant take it anymore. Thursday games every week that are just sloppy in all phases. Injuries taking out players all over the league. I also think the league has become so watered down that there is just a ton of bad football being played all around the league. Yesterday had one of the most exciting games of the season between Dallas and Detroit, and yet that game featured two teams that tried to give the game away over and over. I used to plan to sit and watch football all day every Sunday, but not once this year have I actually sat down and watched a game from start to finish. It's just boring and monotonous to me. And 100% right on about the commercials. I remember about 5 years ago going to my first NFL game ever. And after the kickoff, after a touchdown, etc, the players would huddle up on the field and just stand around for what seemed like an eternity. Then I realized, oh, TV is airing commercials right now. There is no flow to the game whatsoever. Touchdown, commercial. Kickoff, commercial. Turnover, commerical. They never used to go to commercials during challenges either but that's the norm now. It's completely out of hand at this point.

  3. It was 100% the right call. This place is as bad as a Red Sox board damn.
  4. I hate it but it was the right call. Stupid Salty never should have thrown it.
  5. The crap that Dana Demuth is calling tonite is almost criminal. I mean it's atrocious for both teams.

  7. Miss the days of competition bringing out the best in the wrestling industry. I was really into wrestling years ago when WCW and the then WWF were on Monday Nights, and ECW was also in the fold. I went to a few ECW shows at the Rave and they were always awesome. I'd like to wonder what would have been if Vince didnt end up buying WCW and ECW. I always heard Bischoff wanted to buy WCW and wonder how that would have ended up. TNA was ok a few years ago but since bringing in Hogan it has been pretty bad. They had/have a roster with some great wrestlers but always try to be WWE Lite and bringing in old WWE castoffs as opposed to pushing their own talent. Paul Heyman wanted to have creative control with TNA and they said no, but man that could have been great fot TNA.
  8. One thing I have done my whole life is to add dirty clothes to the washing machine and then put the detergent on top of the clothes. Never have had any issues and thats the way my mom always did it. One day I checked the back of the detergent bottle and it actually says to add the detergent first, and then put the clothes in. Anyone do it like me?
  9. Awesome man!!!! Looking good!!! It's crazy how different people can look by losing a lot of weight. Sometimes you can hardly recognize the person. Good for you and glad to hear youre continuing on a good path.
  10. Says who? And who knows if you use him for all 8 outs. But the mindset that my best pitcher can only pitch in the 9th inning is idiotic. When you do that you get results like yesterday, your best pitcher on the mound with the lead long gone. IMO that is bad managing. Edit -> sorry rondo - my response seems a tad harsh, not trying to be rude. While I agree 8 outs might have been difficult for Uehara, but 5 might not have been. Plus with the game in Fenway, the pitcher doesn't bat. So even more of a reason as you won't have to pull him for a hitter. In the end, I just wish in tight spots teams would bring in their best relief pitcher- regardless of inning. Give your 2nd or 3rd best pitcher a clean inning and not 2 on with 1 out. It is what frustrates me with the brewers coaching. Same situation and Loe is brought in to give up a 3 run jack. I actually agree with you 100%. I would have loved to see the closer come in during the highest leverage situation with the game on the line, but you know that no manager would ever do that right now. Maybe in the future but I was just saying you wont see a manager put his closer in during the 7th inning. Baseball is stuck in the whole "roles" thing way too much.
  11. So you're gonna throw Uehara out there with 8 outs to get? He aint pitching 2 and 2/3 inning.
  12. I don't think so, I think it's because he doesn't strike guys out. If teams believed in his 2.86 ERA, they wouldn't have cared about the low level prospect. It really didn't hurt Swisher, Soriano, or Bourn. Teams just don't value Lohse's skill set of pitching to contact. Also, his agent probably screwed up and rejected better offers, then brought his price way down when the season was getting close to starting. Low level prospect? First round draft picks net low level prospects? Michael Bourn went unsigned until a month (mid February) before spring training to Cleveland, which had their first round pick protected. Swisher cost the Indians a 2nd round pick because of the previously mentioned protected first round pick (top 5). I agree that Boras likely turned down offers he deemed too low for Lohse, but the draft pick was a huge sticking point for a lot of teams.
  13. Kyle Lohse wasnt signed because teams didnt want to give up a first round pick to sign him.

  15. -Kershaw had only 4 starts all year (in 36 starts) where he gave up 4 or more runs in one game. He did it tonite in one inning. -Only 4 of the previous 167 hitters Kershaw faced had scored before that inning. Then 4 scored in a 6 hitter span. -Kershaw threw 48, yes FORTY EIGHT pitches in the 3rd inning.
  16. RWA12, Amazing and inspirational post. So happy everything worked out for your son and family. That kid has done through more in his life than most of us will ever go through. Must be such a great feeling to see your kid go off to school with all the other kids after everything you endured. Great post.
  17. In my opinion, this is the biggest concern for Attanasio. Once other opportunities for entertainment outweigh going to Brewer games, running the team like the Yankees won't work any longer. Brewer fans gave up on the Seligs and we had low-teens attendance for years. The new stadium and new owner sparked interest, and attendance has been good for a decade or so, but I think Attanasio is deathly afraid of seeing attendance drop, and has been making moves like last year's Lohse signing in order to keep attendance up. If too many people start to feel that taking a nice vacation or buying a PS3 or doing something else is a better use of their time and money than going to a game, the current strategy of the Brewers won't work. As to season tickets, I live too far away to buy too many tickets in advance so I've never been a season ticket holder, but this was the first year probably since I was four or five years old that I haven't gone to at least one game. There hasnt been low teens per game attendance since 1995. Attanasio bought the team I think in 2005. This is Milwaukee. This isn't New York or LA. There are a limited number of things to do and people love going to Brewer games when the team is competitive. It's one of the things to do in the spring and summer and people come from all over the state. Bottom line, is if the team is competitive people will show up, if not, they wont as much. Pretty simple.

  19. Princes power has all but disappeared. It probably wont get better moving forward either. Most of us knew Prince wasnt gonna age well, but I dont think we saw it coming this soon. This season was his lowest OPS ever in a full season. I can definitely say thank god we never signed Prince to a fat 5 year 100 million dollar contract, that would have really put a dent in signing any other guys or giving other guys extensions.
