What else could possibly lead to a base runner? Every single dink and dunk possibility has happened now. What a crazy game, it should be 5-2.

Physically and mentally. The bobble cost a run and the decision to then throw all the way to the plate let the runner advance to third as well.

By not pitching this year Nelson is limited next year. He can’t go from 0 to 200 innings.

The weird part is this would also limit him as a potential starter next year. They must be set on him staying in the pen, otherwise he should be on the upper end of reliever innings so that he doesn’t end up with an inning limit next year.

I just got home so didn’t see the circumstances, but the fact that Guerra was left in to give up 7 on a day we have a completely rested pen and an off day tomorrow is completely absurd to me.

The misery of the Cubs is music to my ears... I'm sure there's probably a standard fine that goes along with an ejection. The fact that he got tossed from a 7 run game arguing a strike call from 3 innings ago is hilarious.

It's 6 runs. If he struggles JJ finishes it. I'm not worried when JJ is available yet. Knebel in the 9th sucked cuz most of the time Jeffress was used already in those games.

Heck of a start from Chacin. If we don't need JJ or Hader today it really shrinks what we need from Guerra tomorrow.

He had a couple blow up starts that he had to sort of wear it because we needed innings. Otherwise his ERA would be quite a bit better. He's been solid, that's for sure.
