  1. The Braves are home tomorrow and the Brewers off. Why wouldn't they schedule this as a night game. The heat in Atlanta has to kill attendance. This is a big matchup yet the stands mostly empty.
  2. If you can't speed up the game, spice up the broadcasts... Coshun isn't doing it obviously, but seriously, add some live look ins picture in picture style. Quick highlights from other games... Something.
  3. I commented on it in the standings thread but today could be a very big swing day. If we can pull out a Sunday win vs the Braves, the Cubs get Scherzer tonight. Could be 1 back heading to Chicago. Of course we could lose and the Cubs beat Scherzer and were 3 back....
  4. Manny staying hot. Would be very nice to get catcher production down the stretch.
  5. I would say yes, for sure! I'm sure it effects some players differently, but in the grand scheme of things, I think players need to be in there playing, not bouncing back and forth with days on the bench, hitting all over the order, and playing different positions. Hitting in a different spot in the lineup and playing different positions is just an excuse fans make up. It has no bearing on professional hitters. There have been players who have been very vocal about hitting in a certain spot. It affects some, not all, like I said everyone is different.
  6. Everybody is worried about Hader not pitching enough, but if the Brewers are planning for a deep playoff push he needs to be fresh. I can see him throwing a ton of innings in the post season if needed. His post season useage will be very different from what it is now. On topic, today seems like a big day. If we can find a way to get past the Braves today, the Cubs will have their hands full with the Nats tonight. Could cut it to just a game.
  7. Some players are more routine dependent than others. Some probably think baseball is baseball, some probably superstitious, that's CC job to know. We have had drastic swings though. Thames from 1 to as low as 7 I think.
  8. This is the problem with Perez 5th. Yes, he's hit lefties well, but still not the guy I want up here. Much rather see Moose.
  9. Or, perhaps more accurately, it tells you how Schoop is currently hitting. Also that Perez is hitting lefties really well this year. Pretty sure CC is ok with the trade.
  10. Got that fastball high enough. Last couple he tried to put up there he missed and they got fouled off.
  11. I wonder how good the wheels still are, then he accelerates away from Albies in that run down. That was a burst.
  12. The IGT would go to about 15 pages before he was done warming up.
  13. The "Hey Dorn, this guy used to pitch you inside right?" conversation was your favorite part of that movie wasn't it?
  14. Not the best base running there but it's a lot more tolerable after you hit a go ahead double.
  15. Pitcher dropped it, but I wanted to see the call. Both feet looked to hit at the exact same time. Surprised that's an error.
  16. Lol, are you saying he's too old for his heels to come up near the back of his head when he bounces off the ground?
  17. I've been thinking about this tonight. We haven't had Schoop long enough to change his swing or anything like that, but even new guys come here and struggle. If not mechanics, are we horrible at scouting reports or something like that? Seems like there has to be an underlying cause.
  18. Man, just nothing from the offense for 4 straight innings. What was that, about a 7 pitch inning?
  19. Yeah, this seems like a big ask of Miley. The third time through to really good hitters isn’t a great spot to be in here. He was under 70 pitches and throwing well, didn't seem like a stretch to me.
