  1. Yea but the ChiSox dominated that series..and the playoffs, so they wouldn't have won anyway.
  2. Turnbow in with a 1 run lead! YAY!
  3. i really wanna know why David Bell is still playing when we could call up Braun and probably get the same, if not better from him. Could probably get better from Rottino, and hell could probably call up Irabaren, make him randomly play 3rd, and get better. Edit: AFter that 4 pitch walk I found myself wondering why he'd even bother attempting to throw a strike to Fielder with the people behind him. Then I realized, he probably didn't even attempt to.
  4. "Don Drysdale would consider an intentional walk a waste of three pitches. If he wants to put you on base, he can hit you with one pitch." -- Mike Shannon IMO baseball needs more of that. The game has sorta lost it's attitude and is not just catering to hitters like they're the only thing that matters. I have no problem with a pitcher throwing at a guy for whatever reason. Simply because he wants to, or because he wants to protect his teammates. Drysdale also said that if someone brushed back 2 of his guys, he'd buzz 4 of theirs. Pitchers with more attitude would be good for the game. I'd pay money to see someone with a Sheetslike fastball or better just throw one directly into Bonds' knee or head. On A Side note. What do you thnk would have happened if Sammy Sosa did that little jump thing, or Barry Bonds did that stare after the ball thing, and Bob Gibson was on the mound, or Koufax, or Drysdale? The next ball would have been at his face.
  5. Am I the only one that misses the days when Bob Gibson on Don Drystale would hit someone on the mound just becauese they didn't want to face them, or they got shown up?
  6. Because you don't just diss the major leaguer to start the young kid, even though it;s the middle of September. Villanuava will wind up getting a start or two before the year is out, don't worry.
  7. YAY Yankees Red Sox on ESPN! WOOT!... Wait...someone kill me. WAIT! THANK YOU GOD! It's RAINING! HAHAHA OWNED! Show a game that means something ESPN.
  8. Soriano hit the 40/40 mark, or do we have 9000 highlights of that to look foward to against us on BBT?
  9. After Michael Coleman hot-dogged in a home run celebration, he was hit by a Gallardo pitch on his next at-bat, causing both benches to empty for a benign testosterone exhibition. Good. He should throw at a guy I'm completely and entirely for that. Baseball is loseing some of it's luster with people afraid to do certain things. Biggest thing that stuck out to me in that article was that Gallardo gave up three runs... I agree. Look at it this way... a pitch for a run. He shoulda hit three guys! (italicized quotes for clarity -TC)
  10. the D-ray's sight says Kazmir is 6'0, I've seen other things that say he's 5'11, he's one of hte best young pitchers in baseball.
  11. Even Nicer to see Prince had a great day :P
  12. Cordero? Meh, I'd have let Sheets go for the CG
  13. Well, outings like that sure help at dropping Sheet's ERA quite a bit. He could finish the year at about 3.5 if he keeps this up.
  14. Yea well, hopefully Hughes will turn out ot be the next Ben H. and Yo and Innman will become the next Oswalts.
  15. this is their finals right? Not another series after it? and GO STARS!
  16. Some very very wise baseball words. Sometimes ya win Sommetimes ya lose Sometimes....it rains.
  17. On the negative for the white sox....with a Vernon Wells, or Soriano in CF, they'd prolly be leading hte central right now...
  18. With how poorly Brady Clark has played this year compared to last year, and the fact that I don't think he'll be around next year, I would much rather see what we have in Gwynn JR for a month. It's not like we're in contention, or really even have a shot for .500. Just go with it and see what the guys can do rather than try to act like we still have a shot at imrpoving. We've had a bad year with a lot of horriable luck. May as well see what these prospects can do while we've got them up.
  19. No Gwynn or Anderson in the lineup. :/
  20. Go Sharpie Go Sharpie Go! Let's try to not lose in Pittsburgh.
  21. Because He is a Center fielder :P I can't comment on his opinions But, I personally don't think shifting players all over like that is good. I think hall has earned the short stop posisition and that's where you put him unless Hardy can take it from him.
  22. Barring a PHENOMINAL AFL/Spring showing he'll probably start the year at AAA. I expect we'll see him around hte same time we saw Weeks last year.
  23. Bah, Come on yost...Let vinny bat.
