  1. True. All so called #4 and #5 starters have great games in them. After all, no pitcher makes it to the Bigs w/o being the best pitcher on his HS team and higher. If they pull this off Wily will be 4-1 in 6 starts with a 2.04 era 1.03 whip on the year. I know what you are saying, but Wily has done it for the whole year... Pretty strong numbers. I'll be watching this guy.

  3. There really wasn't anything he could have done other than try to get into a run down which he kinda tried. The ball was hit right behind him so he had to let it go by or it hits on the way back to 2 and with the defender right there he is dead if he just breaks for third too. That's how I saw it too. But if you were listening on the radio you would have thought it was the worst play since Merckle's boner.
  4. I don't see any need to worry, Miller. All you guys have to do is play .500 ball until Braun comes back. When do you guys play the NL East? Lotta bad teams there. (I can't wait to play them)
  5. Just noticed you're from GF MT. Finn. Are you watching from the Playground? Nope, I'm far away from that place. LOL...but obviously you've BEEN there.

  7. Reds announcer Thom Brenamen really getting on Gomez's base running there. Laying it on thick.
  8. What a difference 2 days make. Wednesday there was close to 5 pages by this time. What gives?
  9. I see ARam and Segura will suit up tonight. Should be another good contest. In case you did'nt already know, the Cubbies served Wainwright his lunch this afternoon, scoring 6 ER's. I get to watch your game tonight as it's in Cincy. Good luck fellas.
  10. It's a good lead Vegas, but it's a long season. Batting slumps and injuries can derail a team. It takes some luck. On Garcia: I think he's toast. The overthrowing caught up with him. Mott may be in the same boat. Wacha got off track in a windy game in NY. The gale blowing straight at him gave his experimental curveball a big dip, and he went away from the style that made him so tough. 96MPH fastball, a good change and an occasional breaking ball. I'm sure the coaches are behind this. They want another Carpenter/Waino. The big curve is a mighty sexy pitch. If somehow Garcia gets it back together Miller or Kelly will be dealt. Reds' Current and former Card GM Walt Jockety has his eye on them I'm sure.
  11. I fully expected them to compete hard again, but losing Chapman and Latos was rough. And I don't know if BP is playing hurt right now, but his poor hitting, running (not one SB yet) and exuberance is way down. I'm watching them play the Cubbies right now, and the North Siders are giving them a tough time. (5-4 Cubs in the 8th) But then, you may remember that I consider the Cubs a much improved team. All their players with a last name ending in "O" are raking. (as opposed to the Brews' "YL" Excuse me for going off topic in my own thread, but I just learned that Cardinal pitchers Jaime Garcia, Kelly and Jason Motte will ALL be returning in May! I can't begin to guess how this will play out.
  12. I know Jack...they have all but lost my viewership since the emergence of MLBTV. I watch The panel shows because I like Kornhieser and Wilbon, Woody Paige and the others, but thats it. (Steven A. Smith disgusts me, and I'm hard to disgust)
  13. You will get more if the Brews continue to win.
  14. Martin Maldonado is our backup catcher who just pitched OK, thanks. Smart move by the skipper. Uh oh...impending rally brewing?
  15. My announcer just said a position player was on the mound for the Brews! What's the 411?
  16. This is wierd...I got a call and had to rush to the job. When I got back home it was 8-3. (but I swear if the Brews come back and win this one you've seen the last of me)
  17. The Cards are adept at sign stealing. You have to change the indicator very often to be safe. RRR should know that.
  18. With Yadi on the bench I think it was a good agressive play. You just get caught sometimes. But I DO think the Cards stole the sign.
