  1. Gee, Can't you get a prospect back in return that is ranked somewhere in the Top 100?
  2. Never work, 1) without a home base travel would be a killer 2) Doubleheaders, The only way they could make scheduling work is if they schedule 4 Doubleheaders for each team and I don't think that is going to fly too well.
  3. I'm guessing that Bob from guest relations isn't getting any of that for singing it almost every week.
  4. Sounds like a good idea so that we can have Bob the Sheep become fiends with Hank the dog.
  5. Then you went and washed your hands for it was sticky. I had it once too and didn't like it.
  6. Does this make much deference? Managers challenging plays are not a daily thing. Sure it happens but not enough to notice how offen it does happen. Alright, The batter must stay in the box. You know how many times they added this rule over the years? You know how many times the Umpire has called it on a hitter? Like Never, They been there and done that and I'll be shocked if they call it this time. The Commercial break has always been there and it has always been 2 to 2 and half minutes. The commercial are not the problem even though everyone loves to complain about them. and in fact it don't mather for the inning don't start tell the umpire says he's ready. The fact is they all are silly rules that overlook what is making the games longer and that would be that Money game bull. You got to take that walk. You can't try to steel that base on the chance your thrown out and swing at that first pitch that's a sin you don't do that. If a batter goes up there swinging the bat there is a good chance that atbat will take a minute but if they are being selected and trying to get a walk it can be 2 or even 3 minutes. I tell you you watch for that. The Brewers are the only team in the league where the players will swing at the first pitch.
  7. Yeah, Every player that becomes a superstar will end up on that list once they pass their prime.
  8. This brings the offseason full circle. They started the offseason discussing silly rules on how to make games shorter and now they have more on to finish the offseason by discussing silly rules on how to make the games longer.
  9. The Batter’s Box Rule: Haven't they done this rule before and never really inforce it? No-Pitch Intentional Walks: I don't think that would fly but would it mather if a pitcher could do it anyway by not throwing a pitch? 20-Second Rule: This is one that has been talk about before and you know it's one that could backfire. if you have a pitcher that is slow worker and if he fails to throw a pitch in time and you get a ball and you lose 20 secounds for the clock resets and the ball that is called improves the odds of the pitcher walking the hitter and more hitters that come up the longer the game will be. 2:05 Inning Break Clock: What if the hitter is there and the pitcher is there and he is throwing the pitch but the shortstop is running across the infield because he didn't get there in time? 2:30 Pitching Change Break Clock: I'm not sure about this one. Most pitching change happen between innings but most that do happen in a inning happen because a team is in a jam that they have to get out of and to force a pitcher to pitch before he is ready can lead to mistakes and can extend a rally and that wouldn't to speed up the game. Three “Time Out” Limit: The reason to go out to the mound is because they are not on the same page on how to handle a hitter and to discuss how to do so. They could do this but I'm sure it will backfire for once there 3 times are up and there is that 4th time mistakes will be made for they will have no way on getting on the same page for they couldn't talk to each other.
  10. Yeah, I know it isn't easy to pretect 5 years out but it's fun trying. but you know that is when the draft will take place and I like trying to look that far out.
  11. I signed here on Brewerfan just to reply to this question. History in baseball from a stats point of view that time is in the favors of pitching. Pitching gets stronger every year and Expansion favors Hitting. When you have expansion it's turns it in the favor of hitter for about 4 years. So with that said the strongest pitching ever got was back in 1968 and right now it is pritty close to what it was then. Not many teams are scoring more then 3 runs all that offen. It is possable we are where it was in 1966 or 67. So clearly expansion is needed and is coming. So for this I want to more thought in it then every and they to make it more believable. So the first question is when will the Expansion draft happen and to come up with an answer you got to put a time table on what has to happen first. So Selig is retiring after next season and we know he isn't going to put that into action and the new guy isn't going to anything tell after he is gone so we know nothing is going to happen in 2015. First try have to find owners and city to put the teams in and that will happen in the offseason after the 2015 season and once they have that in place they have give them enough time to pertake in the June draft and to that fast enough for them to it in 2016 is not possable. So 2017 will be the first draft for those teams and they have to have 3 drafts to have a minor system to support the majors team. So that's 2018 and 2019. So they will start play in 2020. So the Expansion will happen in the off season after the 2019. So to go though the roster with that in mind. Starters Mike Fiers - he will be 35 years old for the 2020 season but although he should get better with all pitcher by then and he likely will be paid more by then but I fail to see why they would want to protect an aging pitcher that will start to decline after expansion. Kyle Lohse - Hello, 41 Years old, That should answer it. Matt Garza - another young one at 37 Yovani Gallardo - 34? It's borderline and his talent is right now but it's possable unless they find some younger pitcher by then. Wily Peralta - He's young and still be somewhat then. So he is a given. Jimmy Nelson - Some here and is a Given protect. Johnny Hellweg and Wang likely will be starters by then and given protect Bullpen Jeremy Jeffress is the only pitcher in the pen that will be young enough still then to be worth keeping. Catcher Lucroy - Will be 33 and will have his pay day by then. So to answer this one truthfully it's tied to Coulter. If Coulter proves by then he can be the everyday catcher then the might not protect Lucroy but if Coulter don't prove it then they will have to protect lucroy. 1st Base Who Knows who will be the first baseman by then. So who could say who to protect although you could say Jason Rogers but it's still a far way away from being a sure thing. 2nd Base Scooter - He's a lock on protecting. Shortstop Segura - He is a given to 3rd Base That's another postion you can't call. Outfield This outfield we have now will be old by then and likely overpaid. So the truth is who they protect are going to mostly players that are on there top prospects list or players they haven't drafted yet.
  12. It doesn't take much. Pitching is there. The Brewers pitching is good enough right now the win the world series. All they need is the hitting. Give them a few hitters that can hit .270 and they are there.
  13. Is that a new thing? Geoff Jenkins got it without retiring. Although he only played a year with the phillies. Rickie, The problem was he break his wrist and then he break the other one. He was good and always was and still very much is but his injury history just keep him from being what he could have been and it is a shame for it would of been nice to see how good he could of been.
