  1. Rhys had to swing at that 3rd strike. Entirely possible it would have been called a strike
  2. He's still Pre-Arby next year. Still has options. He's coming back.
  3. Think it's just the cycle of it. I think Scary Gary is 4 for his last 22. Slumping from his end. Once he strings together a few hits in a game it will be status quo for his opportunities.
  4. Sounds like a perfect game for Mitchell, or if he was still up, Black, to get the nod.
  5. He's definitely on his A game tonight. That homer by Naylor is a tip of the cap. Wasn't even a bad pitch.
  6. Thought he didn't have options. Haven't looked too far. If he has options he is a prime candidate to be sent down before Sept 1st pitcher addition to roster, at which point I would expect him to come back up. Likely an option, on top of Ross/Wilson being DFA and Milner being optioned.
  7. Either way that's a huge organizational win.
  8. If any 'out of left field' DFA happened it would be Elvis (I don't think that happens, personally). For me it's pretty simple. Hall is up, Milner optioned with right to refuse. Hudson comes back and Ross is DFA. The real issue comes when Megill is ready.
  9. I thought it was fringe on 3 pre-arby years vs 2 pre-arby years. If 6 years of control is the case it's even better!
  10. Payamps is going nowhere. Continued faith from organization. Has been nearly lights out in the past month+. He's actually trending more towards last year Payamps over that span.
  11. Think he's controllable for 5 more years. Got 2 more pre-arby and then 3 years of arby. What a steal.
  12. I have to imagine Junk gets a few innings tonight.
  13. I tend to believe that this placement was more 'phantom' than anything. Milner has looked much better his past few outings. Koenig being back. Hudson being Hudson. Need a long arm in the pen tonight with Junis and Wilson down. 3 lefties in Pen is fine.
  14. The technology exists to get nearly every call correct. Baseball is the only major sport that has the ability to be played as true as can be (without the human eye dictating outcome, regardless of how good/bad they are) and they choose not to. Subscribing to the 'you get some calls that help the team and you get some calls that hurt the team' is today's equivalent of writing a check at the grocery store. Time has passed that by. Baseball needs to get with the technological times but that's hard to expect for a sport without a salary cap or a true even playing field.
  15. Bullpen was rough tonight. Fun game (even with loss). I am still floored that when MLB has a chance to get 100%/near 100% efficiency in strike calls they refuse to use proven technology to get it right. Doesn't impact the union either, no ump loses their job. Human eye can't keep up with the speed/spin rates used today. While the Brewers pen lost this game, this game is a perfect microcosm of the need of Robo Umps calling balls and strikes. Long overdue from baseball.
  16. First things first great at bats by Carroll and Marte. And Corbin has to be better. But With that being said the 2 singles prior were triggered by terrible calls on obvious strikes that changed the at bat counts. If this is the best MLB has to offer come playoff time sign me up for Robo Umps.
  17. They aren't offering him arby and the 3-4 million to keep him. He is pitching his last game as a Brewer. If this year taught us anything their is always a veteran 'scrap heap' pickup that you can bring in to pitch to a 5 ERA and be serviceable on the cheap. Teheran and Rea. Guys like those 2 are always out there in the regular season through DFA/Roster Crunches/etc. and at a fraction of the cost.
  18. Would be awesome if Houser could gut through 2 more innings
  19. So the Stanton 2 run jack and the subsequent loss meant nothing? If were going to carry a 2nd left handed reliever who gets shelled most every outing might as well bring Lauer back up. At least he can give us multiple innings while getting shelled. It's been his MO in AAA since sent down. All innings mean something. Matt Bush only pitched 10 1/3 innings with us, do those innings mean nothing?
  20. You have a lot more faith than I do for a guy, going into tonight's game, that had given up 11 ER with the crew in his 12 Innings pitched. If we didn't trade for Chafin he would have been long gone. He's a sunk cost.
  21. I gotta imagine it's Bukauskas
  22. I would much rather have ran Payamps on 11 pitches out for the 9th. Megill/Uribe/Payamps would be unavailable tomorrow. We would have been fine with Milner/Elvis/Williams being the 7th/8th/9th tomorrow, I am glad it worked out but I still don't want to see Chafin force us to have to go to Williams again because he can't hold up. The guy doesn't belong on a major league roster, period.
  23. I don't care the end result you can't have every outing with that guy. No faith to ever get outs. He truly lucked out today. I can't even give Craig kudos on this decision. Chafin, once again, makes the game closer than it has to be. At least he didn't blow this one, like he does almost every outing.
  24. This guy just can't be in under any circumstance. Viera was more reliable before his 'calf strain'. Baukauskas was more reliable in his short time up. Chafin can not pitch another game for us, period.
