  1. My guess is Viera. The only logical reasoning for sending out Chafin in the 12th is Megill/Pegeuro/Milner/Wilson are all unavailable. If any of those 4 run out for the 13th it's bad managerial decision making.
  2. If this was a 17 game stretch during the middle of the season I can understand the reasoning but not now when the dust has settled (within reason) on the Wild Card/Division races. Simply poor. The only explanation is that we are without other arms in the pen.
  3. Yesterday was super easy. The rarity scores were easy to get too. Bottom right I used George Brett and he was a 3% which floored me.
  4. One would think 11.5 Million is a bit pricey for him but I don't see them keeping Tellez so it's definitely possible.
  5. I am not a fan of Willy at all as a player but he seems to be a great clubhouse guy. He also has a solid 40-50 elite at bats a year that make you wonder how good he could be if he truly took a consistently patient plate approach. An example was last nights homer. Absolute thing of beauty.
  6. I am trying to think back of my most frustrating brewer to watch. Him and Bill Hall are probably at the top of my list. Most extreme extremes of Hall of Fame to little leaguer play at any given time.
  7. I realize we are up 7-2 but come on Willy.
  8. Had to be worried about having that 2nd BP arm that is a lefty. Chafin hasn't been good up until this past week. Andrews was definitely brought in to buy us an inning before being sent down. Didn't work. Your point is taken though. Mejia, Bukauskas have both been more effective at the big league level.
  9. Me neither. I just think if Miley continues to do what he is doing and Burnes continues to struggle with walks and the long ball I think it's at least a possibility under the right team/right scenario in the postseason.
  10. I would also add if things continue the way they are going right now it would be hard to take Peralta and Miley out of a starting role in the postseason. Over the past month Burnes has been our 4th best starter.
  11. Don't we have Clayton Andrews? I would call on him.
  12. That was a nice inning all around. Good plate approaches. Some luck. The last 2 innings had a bunch of that. Looked much better 2nd time through lineup.
  13. When you go back to back against Hall of Famers like Ortiz and Jackson your bound to have struggles. I am not surprised.
  14. Loved how the Fox Announcing team focused on the greatness of the Phillies back 5 in the pen. Completely ignoring that, statistically, our back 5 blow them out of the water from an ERA and WHIP standpoint.
  15. An Ok badgers win might be stretching it. Yikes.
  16. We got the 25-30 pitches of terror Williams tonight. Shaved a few weeks off my life. Great win. Kudos to Rea/Chafin/Megill of stepping up.
  17. Normally I would agree with this (based on the names alone) but when you dig deeper the only true addition to playoff contending teams in the group is Matt Moore. Maybe a team like the Cubs with Taillion vs Giolito (who is in the Mid 4's ERA wise and has absolutely been awful since he got to Anaheim). I would actually think this might have already been cleared by Manfred before this was done.
  18. Great win tonight. I know we, as fans, love to rip bad umpiring but I think James Hoye deserves a ton of credit behind the dish tonight. His zone was so consistent and he had absolutely minimal impact on the game. Was really nice to see.
  19. Seems like we spent majority of the season having zero 2 out hits netting runs. It's to the point you almost expect it during this recent tear.
  20. Megill continues to thrive in that up 4, late inning role. Guy has been lights out. Hope it continues. Not sure what tweak they made with his delivery last time down but whatever it is it is definitely working. I can't remember a time in which this guy knew where his pitches were going. It's evident he has a level of confidence he has lacked his entire career. You can't teach that speed but it's obvious he has been taught some aspects of harnessing it. Fun to watch. For as much crap as I, and others, have given our hitting that has lacked most of the season (take out the last 2 weeks or so), the bullpen and pitching in general is the polar opposite. Turn crap meat into a prime steak.
  21. Accumulating arms is something I love to see. Even if Blalock doesn't pan out there is no reason not to. I always go back to the Adam Lind trade as a reason to accumulate arms. Missaki and Herrera didn't pan out but that 3rd guy seemed to work out just a bit.
  22. Thought it was more than that but regardless that's 2 times we haven't had to worry about the 9th like we did last night. Keep him in that role. I have faith he can preserve a 4-5 run lead without having to get Williams up. I don't have those same thoughts with Mejia or Chafin.
  23. Think it's less about Anderson and sticking with him vs realizing Monasterio might be a less costly solution financially.
  24. Brewers have struggled all year covering the 9th up 4 or 5 runs (in the few times it's happened). Megill has, far and away, been the best at covering that meaningful inning to save the closer/later on relievers. Taking away the Wilson 2-3 IP runs earlier on in the season. Until we bullpen upgrade the 6th-8th positions through Ashby/Teheran/Rea or other Minor league arms he should always be the 9th inning go to in these situations.
  25. Gamecast had that strike 3 call to Simien in the dirt. Assuming wrong?
