  1. Have you found out if Dunn like hitting in the middle of a stacked line-up at Miller Park?
  2. I love the power 50. Can you add the how they were acquired data to list, we don't have to click on the player to find out? Thought it might be an improvement.

  4. If he could figure out how to get that lights out action on his fastball and curve more consistantly he could become a top of the rotation starter. He pitches with the presence of one, just needs to figure out how to keep it low and moving. I'd say he has the best shot of pitching the Brewers 2nd no hitter.
  5. What about Capuano? Has anyone heard of his progress...last I heard from a MLB.com article on June 30th was that he should be ready April 1st and would likely start in AAA ball. "Capuano has one more year of arbitration eligibility remaining, meaning the Brewers, should they decide to tender him a contract before the Dec. 12 deadline, could not cut his 2009 salary by more than 20 percent. Under that scenario, Capuano would cost the team at least $2.8125 million next season, an expense the Brewers might not be willing to pay, considering the low number of pitchers who have undergone a successful second elbow reconstruction. The team could get around that sticking point by outrighting Capuano and making him a free agent. He would then be free to sign a new deal with the Brewers -- or with any other club." I know it is a reach, but he'll give us every chance to evaluate him, since we are his only shot at $2.8MM of 2009. I don't think we will tender him, but I could see us giving him a strong offer if he is recovering well, $1.2-1.8MM. A 20 start sub 5 ERA might make him a Type A free agent at the end of 2009.
  6. I am hearing Hardy to second for next year. Makes nothing but sense to me.
  7. How bout Doug takes it out on the Rookie GM for them selecting him over hometown hero Jack Z.

  10. Post links on stories and commentary related to the CC-LaPorta Trade, so we don't have to scroll through 50 pages to find/read what others are saying. Here is my contribution, Baseball America Jim Callis comments
  11. Sheets is worth two draft picks. There is no way the Brewers can deal him now. To answer your question though, he'd net us a top of the rotation starter prospect and a couple plus prospects - catcher, closer, or lower level outfielder.
  12. That is right we are 2 off last seasons mark, I like the fact that we have had the run now as opposed to start of the year, being the chaser as opposed to the chased is a definite advantage.
  13. This is the best point I have read. Gamel, is the best prospect, maybe in the minors today. If it happens it is going to be LaPorta and a couple token arms for C.C. With the Cards problems and management has to think we are leading the wildcard. Our window is small and support is strong. As much as we love Matt LaPorta, we gotta give to get and LaPorta is the marque name that gets this done. I think it might happen sooner then later, the Cubbies did us no favors by sweeping the Sox. 10 game back gives the GM the a.o.k.
  14. Good point we could use the best pitcher on the planet.
  15. Wow Joel hasn't come in and not allowed a runner yet this year.
  16. I have always had a soft spot for the Cubs and consider myself a closet fan, now that the Brewers are in position, my affection for them has wained and I actually love to see them spiral out of control. So, I now consider my three favorite teams as: 1. The Brewers 2. The Imploding Cubs 3. The Cubs I am not sure if this trade will help The Cubs or The Imploding Cubs more. Should be interesting to see. One other thing to consider, a 10 game lead at the All Star Break would make a lot of division foes sellers at the break, these next several series are huge.
  17. Good call, although politics might get in the way after last years trade. Mench back to Texas would make a lot of sense.
  18. I like the idea of making Brad Lidge a player again, but I'd be nervous as can be in Oct. seems to be too much of a head case, even if we get him straight.
  19. I agree. They have a .244 team BA. There OF is struggling. There not too deep or too talented there. They could use Gwynn and Mench or Jenkins. Jenkins would make sense being a SD guy, but I'd hate to lose him. In return we could get bullpen help. Heath Bell, Scott Linebrink, Doug Brocail. I think the most likely deal is Gwynn for Meredith straight up. Although I think he'd like to do a two for one deal since we have too many players right now. I am confident that a deal (regardless of the player or team) is happening in the next two weeks though to relieve the log jam.
  20. Ditto that and Ditto that I like the fact that your moving to a schedule. Thanks for making the commitment, it is one of the things that I love about this site.
  21. I'd rather add a relief prospect with one of our outfielders and give Vinny Rotoni the 25th job
  22. Troy e. Renck is a hack...I have said it before. I like the fact that he gives us stuff to talk about, but 90% of what he writes is unfounded.
  23. As I wrote yesterday in this thread, the Denver Post has a different standard for journalism...it makes for fun message board speculation, but it's not necessarily factual.
  24. I have always thought that you could never trust anything you read in the Denver Post Sports page...they seem to spew rumors, like a Internet Message Board.
  25. I don't like Pavano and I don't think he fits the Maddux mold because he is not a power arm. Over a 10 year career (9yrs) he only has 4 shutouts and 6 complete games. Dave Bush has 3 and 6 (3yrs). I am hoping that no one let's the Yankees off the hook for that one hit wonder.
