  1. Sorry, I don't have a link. Heard it on WEEI out of Boston. Didn't catch what their source was. Source was the San Francisco Chronicle
  2. If he could somehow prove the condition is better I woudn't mind "settling" for him but he's not someone we should be looking at in November. Maybe in February.
  3. He's got "plantar fasciitis". www.kffl.com/player/5558/mlb
  4. I thought he was still hurt.
  5. The SI jinx strikes again.
  6. A little over 4 million won the rights to talk. Sounds like a solid player. www.sptimes.com/2006/11/1...o_ge.shtml
  7. I just wouldn't give him 3 years. My feeling (hope) is that Gwynn will be able to put up Roberts like numbers in a year so why give him 2 extra years. I know he wouldn't sign for less than that so let him go. I wouldn't mind giving Lofton a one year deal and let Gwynn have another year at AAA.
  8. WEEI (Peter Gammons) is reporting Red Sox were the highest bidder at 42 million.
  9. I hate when someone says this in the 4th inning.
  10. Just got back from the game. A few thoughts... Seeing Jenkins starting is almost like seeing Ned throw Turnbow out there time after time when the world knows he's just lost it. Sheets is not right. I was excited after his last start but this wasn't good. His velocity hit 94 according to the scoreboard maybe a couple times but he was most around 88-89. Our RISP offense has got to be the worst. It's just plain frustrating sitting there as guys hit pop up after pop up. As much as I know we're not technically "out of it" I just cannot see us even getting back to .500 at this point. Pretty dejected after a real bore of a performance by the Crew.
  11. Can someone recap the blunder in the 9th? Was it a routine fly ball and they ran into each other? Was watching Gameday at work. Thx.
  12. What have they said about the rain? How long?
  13. Have fun... I've always wanted to go to Coors. Bring us a win.
  14. Wow. Definitely going with the lefties. www.usatoday.com/sports/s...671713.htm
  15. OK... While my heart didn't allow me to watch the game on TV in the 9th, I noticed via Gameday that Helton led off with a "triple" then I caught a glimpse of the play after the game on ESPN. I just caught Gwynn sliding like he over ran it. Is that what happened. I've noticed he looks a little lost out there. I know he's supposed to be good defensively but I know he took a weird route on a ball at a game I was at recently. Just seems like he's not picking up the ball right away. Just saw the play. I would've really been pissed if they would've lost because of that. Great hustle, of course, by Brady to go get it. They both took ugly routes. Luckily it was Helton running.
  16. Free Laynce Nix! Seriously... if this guy could somehow break out that would be huge. Melvin just needs to decide at some point who to let go and who to keep. I was hoping Cruz would be kept but that's not happening anymore. I think Gwynn will end up being pretty darn good at some point. Just not a lot of power from our minor league OF anymore with Cruz gone. I'm not saying that's horrible but some HR potential could help. I know Nix is supposed to have a little pop. Sorry, I'm babbling.
  17. I wouldn't have minded seeing Cirillo at 2nd tonight. Bell has good small sample numbers against Cook so I figured he'd be in. I wonder if Cirillo's banged up a little, too.
  18. Lineups are in... Can someone paste these in a post. I have no idea how to format it. www.usatoday.com/sports/s...671706.htm
  19. We give up RBIs to pitchers and ours can't even bunt. This is really getting frustrating.
  20. Makes sense to me. I didn't know the specifics of the whole thing. I just knew Yost got tossed after the ump followed Billy. I didn't know about the other stuff.
  21. I hear about that move by Billy. I would totally understand the benching except that Yost backed him during the game.
  22. Cirillo at short again. Not that I really hate it but no Hall again either. Is Billy in the doghouse? There's no way a trade would be in the works. Not when he's the only SS we have.
  23. Lineups are up on usatoday.com I have no idea how to copy/paste correctly so I'll defer. Koskie at 3rd base is really the only change, as expected.
  24. Still having MLB audio trouble. Got kicked off and now it says "verify file path". AHHH!!!! Stilll have gameday at least.
