  1. I think it is pretty reasonable to assume he wanted to keep the jersey and the reason he took it off is to put it somewhere safe. Most notably safe from Gatorade showers. Maybe....maybe not. He probably had to go thank the ALCS MVP in the hallway too.
  2. No, MLB has similar powers. The reason players are not getting punishment is because they stated they wouldn't so they would talk. They are not going to backtrack on that or players will never talk again in similar cases.
  3. I really doubt they go after players after saying they wouldn't punish them. Obviously if they lied about buzzers and they did I suppose they could punish them, but they got who they wanted. They weren't after the players from the start.
  4. Yelich is great and all, but he is one guy. We don't suddenly become an incompetent team without him. Much like the Angels are not perennial contenders with Trout. You aren't going to go out and replace him, but you can certainly make a string of moves to lessen that impact. Josh Donaldson would actually be a pretty logical move if we were losing Yelich. He would hopefully replace most of the production without the monumental risk of a mega contract. Think Aramis Ramirez after we lost Prince Fielder. Yelich is not Aaron Rodgers. If we aren't contending post-Yelich it is because of a lot more than losing Yelich. Yelich is a small piece of the pie when it comes to our recent success. Knebel was injured all last year and Jeffress was a dumpster fire and we survived. Jimmy Nelson missed all of 2018 and we nearly made the World Series. Baseball is a team sport.
  5. Carlos Beltran getting canned is probably not a good sign for the future job prospects of the people involved in this.

    Pizza

You know to be honest I actually really like the thin crust at Pizza Hut, no shame. The outer crust is arguably some of the best I have ever eaten and I just can't go wrong getting a pepperoni lovers. Overall it may not be great, but I just have to get it occasionally for those crusty filled bites at the end of every slice. My comparable to toppers sticks is the bread bites at Dominos...they are like gold nuggets of goodness. I like to get Neapolitan pizza sometimes, but that is a type of pizza pretty void in Wisconsin.
  7. Is this really baggage? The women-beaters and PED'ers have had no problems getting jobs as long as they have talent. Luhnow built a powerhouse organization. I'd want him in Milwaukee if Stearns were to leave. And you have to think everyone in MLB front offices know which players were involved. If Luhnow, Hinch, and Cora get blackballed, those players should too. But Carlos Beltran still has a job so I doubt that's going to happen. To me, yah. You see it any time a front office official does something...quickly fired. I just don't think there is much patience with managers/front office execs when it comes to doing things wrong or getting in trouble. Not to mention these guys basically allowed entire teams to knowingly cheat in ways that probably had a bigger impact on the game than most PED users ever had. While Lunhow and Hinch were respectable guys who are good at their jobs they ae easily replaced. They lead the team...how can you bring them in when they are two of the biggest crooks in history? I do find it interesting how readily accepting some are to this because it is "widespread", but most fans despise PED guys. PEDs are probably just as widespread. I really don't buy this being a league wide problem (stealing signs). A lot of players are really really ticked off, which tells me they haven't experienced it on their own teams.
  8. It starts now, they don't need to be hired. Their concern isn't the year suspension and loss of salary though...it is being attached to this scandal. It will be interesting how easy it is to get a job after this. For Cora I would imagine he is pretty much screwed. I could see Hinch/Luhnow finding jobs or having a hard time...hard to know. There is just a ton of negative attachment to them whether they participated in it or not. Hard to hire someone to run your team that comes with baggage.
  9. Yah, something tells me we will be quite happy we didn't spend this much on Donaldson. We signed Cain, I wouldn't expect another old player on the roster at the same time.
  10. I think pro sports teams cling to championships much more than college sports do...at least it seems that way. If you take the championship away you basically force the Astros to never sell merchandise related to it forever. That is a decent hit financially...especially if they don't see another title for decades. Of course not a few years into the future most of the shine to that World Series has worn off...would be much more negative if you got caught within the year after. Think about the gut punch that would be to a team that has only won it that one time. Back to no banners. I also think the USC thing is a poor example. When they vacate college stuff it is usually one player being ineligible for taking money when most people think it is a joke they aren't paid. I just don't think a player taking money is something people frown upon or even really consider cheating. They don't need to do it though. People who think they cheated their way to the title won't acknowledge it. They have tainted it and that is enough...much like Bonds and his HRs.
  11. I don't know guys, this may end up a good thing. Think of all the new merchandise they can sell for this event: https://2020trendingtees.com/product/houston-asterisks-shirt/

    Pizza

Always been a fan of the Sammy's in Eau Claire. My personal #1 is Wells Brothers in Racine, which is a bit underrated in the area all things considered. Bill's in Stevens Point is also pretty good. If I am watching a Brewers game you can't go wrong with a good Pizza Ranch buffet!
  13. Mike Fiers is going to be shunned by players all across Major League Baseball. Heck the majority might hate him now. It may effect his ability to get a contract or how much he can get. He went against the unwritten rules of baseball whistle blowing. This doesn’t benefit Mike Fiers at all...not even the slightest.
  14. I’ve seen a lot of people thinking more teams are going to get caught up in this, no, I think that is really unlikely. All this talk about what the Yankees did back in 2014 or whatever is irrelevant. MLB slapped the Red Sox on the wrist in September 2017 and said, “No more, from here forward major punishments for electronic sign stealing.” The Astros and Red Sox then failed to listen. So the Astros and Cora are going to be thrown into the fire because they didn’t listen. MLB got what they wanted, someone to throw into the fire as an example. They aren’t going to go back and find sign stealing from that pre-2017 warning they gave out. I am personally glad there is a bigger scandal to take the throne away from Braun’s little incident in 2011-2013 though. This makes Braun look like a saint. He was just one guy, now this...this is a small army.
  15. I missed that. I didn't read the whole report. I'll amend my statement. I actually find that interesting. He hated it, smashed the tv they used to do it, and the players kept doing it? The way I understood it is he didn’t really show his displeasure towards everyone. Maybe he smashed the TV when no one was around. Shows how determined some were to keep doing it. Regardless it seemed like he was frustrated, but kept it to himself.
  16. As previously mentioned the report outlines AJ Hinch did know. He hated it, so much so he smashed the TV in the hallway multiple times...but he didn’t stop it. Thus, he got a notable punishment.
  17. I think Cora is going to be blacklisted if he suspended for life. Who is going to hire a guy coming off a multi year suspension? Not to mention his major success will be making two organizations cheat their way to titles?
  18. Both of these teams were caught in the year they won the World Series. The Red Sox actually cheated in 2017 too I believe. They were the ones that caused the final “warning” on electronic sign stealing.
  19. They started doing that this year...letting guys pick it up, run for the TD, and then overturn it. There was some play last year they messed up and it started making them change, because as you said, it is easier to just let it play out. Interesting yesterday they just had to go against that and call him down.
  20. Look at his twitter history...it is a joke account.
  21. So now are the replacements hired suspended for 1year w/o pay? Can MLB just keep the now vacant positions vacant? Hold Houston responsible to not hire and use whom they have now to replace these two? As in the bench coach is now coach. Whatever the hierarchy is below GM is now GM for 1 year? Because if Houston just gets to hire replacement GM and Coach then what penalty is this team really incurring? 5mil and 4 draft picks? I think losing the GM that constructed their roster is a pretty big loss. Those suspensions aren't really a direct punishment for the Astros though...it is for those individuals.
  22. Alex Cora has basically created elaborate cheating schemes to secure 2/3 of the last three World Series. Each with a different team. I don't think he will get an MLB job after this. This is pretty bad.
  23. Obviously wished they would have gotten the title wiped off the map, but this is a pretty big black eye anyway. Should be interesting how this will effect them. How does the GMs suspension work? Does it only cover the in-season interaction? If so that is pretty lame, should be 365 days. Kinda crazy someone else has to make those personnel moves for one measly year. Owner should just fire them both and move on, what an ugly situation.
  24. Already said they wouldn't. I am guessing that was partially hoping they would talk and get some information about the situation.
  25. There are quite a few Casey’s around Wisconsin now. The pizza is ridiculously hyped up, but I really question how good gas station pizza can be.
