  1. Using Love like he is Jimmy G is the best way to win games. I don’t know if that should be our goal though…
  2. How do you take that sack bro?
  3. Right, but spring training is here then. The point is to do it in the dead of winter to keep interest going.
  4. No…and it isn’t heated. So it doesn’t work anyway.
  5. Yah, guys like Dillon need a decent OL so they can get some momentum going. I don’t think he is as good as he was when we drafted him, but if you give that guy a hole, he will hit the first defender and go through him. Of course, not sure we need to keep him when we seem quite likely to draft a RB fairly high and clearly we aren’t in much position to compete.
  6. I am not a huge "teams never trade within the division guy', but there has got to be a negative one bazzilion percent chance the Bears trade with us so we can grab a Top 3 pick QB in the draft. Like, there ain't no way that is happening. Not a chance in the world.
  7. Meh. The hitting coach is working with a pile of shart and the pitching coach gets to sit back and watch ace after ace rotation or bullpen take the mound. Like the last time our pitching coach ditched, I doubt the world ends as we know it if the current one left. The pitching success if probably a bigger reflection of the guys in the minors, not the MLB guy.
  8. Maybe Counsell is just using them to drive up the price for the Brewers and afterwards a bunch of Brewers players are going to go on Twitter and be like, "LOL that those Met's fans thought Counsell would ever go to the dumpster fire Mets." And finally, just finally, we have beat the large market at their own game and get to throw up the middle finger for once....Counsell truly doing the thing more impossible than winning a World Series. Bronze statue by opening day.
  9. Maybe he takes Pat Murphy if he doesn't replace Counsell? That is really the only guy Counsell probably has much control over. The hitting coach and pitching coach aren't necessarily manager picks....and very well may have contracts that don't follow his. I don't think those coaches decide where to go based on who the manager is.
  10. Yah, that’s why I floated the slightly unrealistic idea of a long term deal. I think it’s a little complicated to find a mutual amount for both parties though. In Woodruff’s eyes he only has to be decent one of the upcoming years and some team will still give him a multi year deal for quite a bit of money and his floor worst case is double his career earnings of $20 this off-season on a two year deal.
  11. I get the logic, but I seriously doubt the Brewers have enough interest to chuck 3+ years at him. The threshold is soooo low to get paid $10mil+ as a starter. I imagine he wants a 2 year deal from someone. Though the thought of some long deal that mirrors one of those risky super pre arby deals sounds fun. Totally not happening, nor really realistic, but imagine paying him like 5/$40mil or something. Not saying I would do it, but Woodruff is right....really weird situation. Due to timing and his elite play.
  12. Your concern should be Stearns doing that. If Stearns wants those guys he will try to get them regardless of what CC does.
  13. Random thought who are all the guys he has traded up for? I can think of Love and Watson…both of which are seriously depressing for guys he was so sure about that he paid up to go get them. I mean he rushed to go get Love and reached in most peoples mind. Christian Watson was basically drafted in the 1st round, yet the dude is seriously disappointing. Two rookies have more receiving yards and another is right behind him. Nearly half his yards are on one pass. Certainly Love being garbage doesn’t help, but should Reed be dominating over him and Wicks being just as good? Wicks is a rookie 5th round draft pick. Seems like this year proves all Watson is (at least at this point) is a one trick pony. Run fast and catch a deep ball. If the QB can’t hit that, dude is useless.
  14. The reality is, Counsell is the most clickbait worthy thing right now since players aren’t FAs yet. The trash heap is high full of rand articles for us all to click on and talk about and share. Counsell could be 100% sold on returning, but the guy still wants to make a ton of money to prove a point about managers. So even then he would be taking all these interviews and dishing out rumors that he is really interested in the Mets job to maximize his contract. Or he may actually have serious interest and see it as the perfect time to part ways happily on a high note. Who knows. So buckle up and wait for the only meaningful article, the one after he decides where he is going.
  15. Yah, that doesn’t make sense. I’d Love looks good enough next year you just franchise tag him and sign him to an extension of sorts. His Packers future can be locked in past next year. Also, the writer could have probably found a better INT that wasn’t Love’s fault. Watson running a route slightly angled wrong takes little to no blame off Love for throwing a pick. He has eyeballs, he didn’t use them. Now if the WR ran the wrong route and suddenly stops when he should have kept going…yah, that ain’t on Love. He probably has had on of those this year. Love does just fine being one of the worst QBs in the league without assistance. The guy doesn’t do anything to deserve us to feel bad for him and start pointing the finger elsewhere. When he gets good blocking, wide open receivers, or help from the run game he still finds away to suck more than do anything useful. The only thing I feel for him on, that the writer did point out in his article, is the team around him makes it really hard to get into a rhythm and sustain some drives. The rest of the offense can’t afford a missed block or drop because Love is good for a bad pass 1/3 passes. Love can’t afford to make a bad pass because 1/3 times the offense will blow a block or drop the ball. Everyone sucks and no one is good enough to help elevate the offense. Healthy Jones maybe…but clearly he isn’t healthy.
  16. I mean, the coaches gotta go too. MLF is quite honestly a joke.
  17. I dream of a Top 3 pick to probably draft one of the two top QBs. However, something tells me our schedule is too light to basically win no more games. I also don’t think we suck enough for it either.
  18. Packers game ends and it proceeds to show a young QB throw a deep TD and the WR making an insane catch. We could use one of those, let alone both.
  19. Yup, it always seemed kinda obvious, now it is being proven. Im guessing the crowd mad Rodgers didn’t allow us to run “MLFs offense” are reconsidering that stance.
  20. Annnnd back to missing a guy wide open deep. that’s like a lay up throw down the sideline.
  21. Yo, dude almost connected deep.
  22. I don’t think it was a bad pass by Love, it was high, but not by much. Put it where only his guy had a chance. That’s a tough pass without an elite QB with a really good receiver. Watson ain’t that and Love certainly doesn’t have pinpoint accuracy.
  23. MLF is such an idiot. Get half the yardage for a chance on 4th. There were no shorter routes. All to the sticks. Instead he allows classic Love to just chuck a terrible pass into the end zone. Leading to a near impossible 4th down.
  24. The throw was too high. He got a hand on it. Besides, that is only half the equation. Expecting Love to make tough throws is dumb. Expecting our WRs to catch those throws is also stupid.
