  1. Shocking what happens when you stop swinging at balls Durbin.
  2. Can someone check Yelich for a pulse. I don’t even get excited when he comes to the plate. I’m already thinking about the next guy.
  3. Not a great outing, but man did he lock in to dot the corner on a 3-2 count.
  4. It isn’t tough though, it’s little league baseball. Freeze on liners. instead the second the ball was hit he thought 3rd base. And he got burned.
  5. Bad jumps on flyballs…sure didn’t have a bad jump to run for 2nd on a line drive.
  6. It’s not just purely pitch type, but location too. So it isn’t quite that simple.
  7. Sometimes if it is meant to be for you to win. Some absolute scrub like Joey Ortiz comes to the plate and gets the biggest hit of the game. Man that sure would be cool here.
  8. Well, any win was going to need 3 good inning from Miz. We got it, so how about we wake up the bats….yah?
  9. Chourio’s day so far: Watch Strike 3 Doesn’t catch a fly ball Double Play yikes
  10. Fastball not very electric, but the breaking stuff is breaking quite a bit…and hitting his spots. props to Contreras or whoever decided to go away from the fastball.
  11. 1) He threw 11 pitches 2) This is quite meaningless in an elimination game. I will roll the dice’s on a second Megill inning.
  12. Megill should have still been in. Literally rushing to put Miz into this game as fast as possible when most teams wouldn’t even have him on their postseason roster. Smh
  13. Doesn’t help winning this series tonight doesn’t feel like a massive accomplishment now. More, *deep exhale* that was embarrassing, let’s forget about this before Monday type deal.
  14. I mean, yah, easily. You’d have to be sipping some serious Uecker Magic kool aid to have much confidence in them having a chance at beating the Dodgers anyway. I’d take an NLCS appearance all day. It isn’t even the whole Cubs/Greg factor…I think getting to the NLCS is a big deal for fan interest even if we lose it in the end. If we lose…it’s pretty deflating. Not just another disappointing result, but I’d go into this is finally our downfall mode.
  15. The point stands though. There are now 3 generations that wouldn’t really associate with 1982 at all. The only reason I feel some of that nostalgia is because of rain delays in the 2005-2015 era. Lol
  16. To be fair, many of us aren’t the like 60+ years old that it would take to care about the 1982 run. I suppose it is the worst in franchise history…but to what is becoming a majority of fans, it is kinda meaningless.
  17. I do think any win involves Miz. I think they will throw him either winning or losing. Could end terribly, but we need people like Miz to be great in October to get anywhere anyway. As far as this being some horrible franchise loss, meh, I guess I’m just not that obsessive over the whole Greg storyline. Certainly not worse than a home loss in Game 7 of the NLCS. Maybe I’d care if the Cubs went on to get to the World Series…but that would be quite a shock.
  18. Where do we get these announcers? Not even a peep about one of the worst strike calls this postseason to start that AB. *** Also, good job Murph putting Yelich lead off over Chourio. Got BURNED there.
  19. Need a couple guys to string hits together. Right now everyone walking up there to score 3 runs with the swing of a bat with no one on.
  20. Based on what? Just because of the win record? Notably a single hot streak long removed from? Their starting pitching is horrid without Woodruff. Peralta is the ace and doesn’t go 6 innings half the time. It leaves almost no room for error and we need Peralta to be good and win those games. The offense is good, but it also doesn’t exactly excel at the one thing that typically wins postseason ball, homers. Good hitters, pesky…but stringing a bunch of hits together becomes rare when you get to big boy pitchers (not what the Cubs have)
