  1. Ryan Braun is overall the face of the franchise and the most popular fan favorite. That being said he is not godly by any means. Like every fan favorite before him he can go bye bye and life will move on. I don't think Braun ever got to an extreme level of "lovable". In 2011 he played along side a lot of incredible players. 2012 he probably would have been that "lovable" guy but he got caught for PED, then he got busted in 2013 and missed half the year, and then in 2014 he had just an ok year. By that time a lot of fans were turned off. The super fan bandwagon you are referring to doesn't exist as much as you think. He is not on Yount level and never will be.
  2. Why does everyone shrug off the money aspect? "Oh well if we pay Braun $20mil to not hit or be injured that is ok." Uhhh, not really ok. We could use that money for other things to improve this team. Just because we can afford it doesn't mean we can't better ourselves not being tied to it. Wasting money or spending it on things that do nothing for us is never a good thing.
  3. Segura would NOT have ever turned it around here. We would have had the same garbage Segura we had for years!! He turned it around because he left. And no even if we could have won 85 games they would have made the same moves and won 73ish. We are building a perrenial contender not some one time 85 win team that would have been the worst team in the postseason.
  4. We are pretty much locked into the #9 spot. The only way we can possibly move is if we either: A) Go 3-0 and the Rockies or Angels go 0-3. Or B) Go 0-3 and the Phillies or Padres go 3-0.
  5. How many idiots does it take to figure out you need to challenge a play? Bryan Price has played how many games at that stadium and he gets told every time right before the game the ground rules. What the heck was he doing going to the bathroom when the play happened? Then you have the LFer who apparently is no brighter and lastly you have the entire Reds dugout for failing to notify Price right away. I guess someone knew and finally said something, but any sensible person would have been sprinting across the dugout telling Price before Carpenter even made the turn for home. I am just shocked this entire event happened from start to finish. I am shocked the umpire missed that call and shocked one of the two dozen people affiliated with the Reds didn't think to challenge for nearly a minute after it bounced over the wall.
  6. Whether you like it or not the umpires did nothing wrong post play. The rule is the problem and that sure will be changed.
  7. At some point this has to be fixed. Lancaster and Colorado Springs is a complete joke. I know it can't be fixed overnight, but 2-4 years from now they need to figure out how they can improve on these situations.
  8. Well to be fair the Brewers only paid like $5mil of that. The rest came from the stadium fund or whatever they call it. And I think it has had quite the return on investment. You are forgetting the advertisement opportunities and other uses for it that we couldn't do before. Now the next scoreboard(2020) is a little less clear. That one all you are gaining is fan experience and keeping up with technology.
  9. I am going off the assumption Garza is gone somehow and Braun ends up getting traded off to the Dodgers. If Braun isn't traded he goes to LF and Santana back to RF. If Garza isn't traded someone else will be and he will take that spot in the rotation. Susac is my starting catcher as Maldonado is clearly a back-up at this point. I won't even attempt to guess the bullpen or bench because it is a waste of time this far out. Starting Rotation: 1)Davies 2)Guerra 3)Nelson 4)Anderson 5)Peralta Positional Players: C-Andrew Susac 1B-Chris Carter 2B-Jonathan Villar SS-Orlando Arcia 3B-Hernan Perez LF- Domingo Santana CF- Keon Broxton RF- Yasiel Puig
  10. If one of their Top 3 prospects(or Alvarez) isn't in a Braun trade it is basically a salary dump with us paying money for prospects. That is how I see it.
  11. Yah LEDs are a huge money saver. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a lot of smaller improvements all over the park. Though when it was mentioned it sounded like one big project.
  12. I will keep waiting for where I said Puig has more value than Braun. Braun has a lot more potential value because you can eat money to make his contract attractive. If you ate no money? Yah Braun is pretty much impossible to move with little value. Sorry just the reality of the situation. Your last paragraph is also a bunch of lies. You actually only have to go back one page to find out what my guess was. It also included two Top 8 prospects. So nice try.
  13. With today's loss we are still alive for the #8 pick. If were to have won it would have taken an 0-3 finish plus a 3-1 or 4-0 finish by the Phillies to secure that pick.
  14. Its a borderline pipe dream to get one of those guys.
  15. Yup because he was clearly never going to do anything here. Looks bad, but holding on to him would have been much worse. He was a lost cause here. If Diaz becomes a Top 50 prospect and becomes an above average offensive player I won't shed a single tear.
  16. The window panels are for the grass to grow properly. Some direct sunlight is better than none. Depending on the season decides how much direct sunlight it gets, but it gets a decent amount daily. Now with today's technology could they put the pretty lights on it every night to get it to grow? Possible, but that wasn't a big thing in 2001. If you search it you will find articles talking about how important this was for them to have natural grass. Doesn't matter though. They wouldn't invest millions of dollars to avoid shadows that both teams deal with occasionally throughout the year.
  17. uhh don't mess with the glass. That is why we have real grass. Obviously the Brewers can't build a cardinal type ballpark village. I think we all realize that. Their ballpark village costs $650mil which obviously isn't going to happen here. However there is no reason to believe they can't do a Brewer size village. Such a thing could include a tailgating area, hotel, bar/place to eat, etc. to give the outside of the park more life. It would be really nice to see more entertainment outside the ballpark for before games.
  18. Id expect them to hold onto most of their starting pitch depth and not be all that motivated to move any of them. I could see them trading Garza to open up a spot in the rotation, but outside of that I question how much they want to trade any of those guys. I also really question that we can get great value for any of our guys since they all really struggled this year. Id guess Nelson, Davies, Peralta, and Jungmann are pretty safe. I don't see them selling at bottom value for Nelson, same with Peralta who pitched well after being brought back up, Davies since he was the only competent pitcher all year long, and Jungmann as he just doesn't have value. That leaves Garza, Anderson, and Guerra. I am sure they would love to dump Garza and would be willing onn Anderson/Guerra for the right deal.
  19. Ughhhh! That is false, please, if you are going to comment, get your facts straight. Ok, this is the last time I comment, I promise... You know his friends or something?
  20. Did you honestly just compare your high school athletic days to professional sports. [sarcasm]John this may be your best work yet.[/sarcasm]
  21. One man declined to go with them on the boating trip. Sensing a not good situation regarding Fernandez having a recent fight with his girlfriend that day(who is pregnant). Really feel for his girlfriend who has to feel just awful. To have a fight and your SO storm out to never make it back. The text conversation is hard to read. The man that decided not to go just sensed that it was a bad idea. One of the men that did go with texted him, "Don't worry it isn't my time." Article also touches on the possibility of alcohol being involved. It was Fernandez's boat and just 90minutes before the crash he was at a popular party scene. Toxicology has not come back. http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/fernandezs-friend-sent-ominous-text-prior-to-crash/ar-BBwF3Xa?li=BBnb7Kz
