  1. If they were to flip a coin instead of actually watching the replays on a review the results would be just about the same and it would save everyone some time.
  2. Replay has proven to be absolutely worthless in major league baseball. Pay me the money, I can sit in a replay booth all day and I guarantee I can do a better job.
  3. The lead on the division remains 1.5 games, magic number down to 118!
  4. This doesn't make any sense. You're looking at three years from now and you don't have Santana, Broxton, Braun, Shaw, and Villar among others. Are you predicting us to non tender all of them and to have cut Braun by then? If you're predicting that all or some will be traded, then what did we trade for? I would think you'd at least look to get major league ready prospects, if not established major leaguers for them if you're planing on being ready to compete by 2020. I don't think a trade would work where you would trade all of them for an ace level pitcher. What's more likely is there are some holdovers from this years roster, along with a few free agent signings, and a number of players traded for using a combination of prospects and players currently on the major league roster.
  5. 2.5 game lead on the division! Magic number down to 119!
  6. I mean, I really doubt the Brewers would object much to the off day. Their bullpen is pretty much just as decimated. Look at how much Knebal, Barnes, Torres have been used lately. Given the brewers have played more games than just about every team to this point and have had starters pitch just about the least amount of innings, I think two off days in three days is more than fine. Also with Braun about to come off the DL, every game PPD now is one less game he has to miss, he could even be back tomorrow! I know the team is hot right now, but you want to be in this for the long haul and not burn out in May.
  7. I don't know, I'm kinda ok with talk like that. It's not true at all, and is definitely mostly garbage but it does help give an explanation to the casual fans. The casual fan loves to think his team wants it more and is full of born winners that just get the jobs done. They don't want to hear a bunch of stats they've never heard of. With local sports talk radio, why not simplify things a bit so maybe more casual fans come out and enjoy a game? Even if it's not really true.
  8. I've got money on the over of 70.5! I was in Vegas before the season but couldn't find lower than 71.5 I feel pretty good so far with my over bet. Also feel pretty good about my longshot $5 to win $700 on a Brewers pennant
  9. Your first place Milwaukee Brewers!!!!
  10. So a little better, and probably a higher rate of opportunities too. They were lucky to get the second one in, can't believe that throw wouldn't be coming home.
  11. Seems we've been a lot better getting runners in from 3rd with less than two outs this season. Or maybe it's just that we get so many baserunners...
  12. I watch or listen to every game. I work nights managing a restaurant so we always have it on the radio and usually TV at work, on off nights I watch as well if I'm not down at Miller Park. For day games I tape them and usually get through them in about an hour or so. It's a lot easier to follow games now than it was when I was a kid in the late '90's.
  13. Moved this here since the other one will eventually go away. In the four games where Feliz has taken the loss he is: 0-4 with 1 blow save, 9 earned runs allowed in 3.1 innings pitched, walking 2, striking out 3 and allowing 4 homers. In the other 13 games he has pitched: 0-0 with 8 saves, 2 earned runs in 12.1 innings pitched, walking 7, striking out 13 while allowing 0 homers. I get that, I'm just not sure he'll continue to have good numbers in save situations given his struggles in non save situations. He's still walked too many in those successful saves. With how Knebal has pitched it's tough to not want him in the closers role.
  14. But by using advanced stats we can clearly tell he's been quite lucky to even be 8 out of 9 in save chances. You can always be preemptive in making a move before the guy costs us more games.
  15. 8 of 9 in closing situations tells a different story. This is why we use more advanced methods of evaluation than wins, saves, or holds to determine if a pitcher is getting the job done. Feliz has been absolutely terrible.
  16. I'm not sure what's more impressive. Having a lead in that insane amount of games, or somehow only being 14-13 after having a lead in that many games. Either way, our pitching top to bottom has been a dumpster fire, yet the team is still above .500 (and in first place as of tonight!!) We've got a top flight offense right now, and plenty of pitchers in the minors doing pretty well and deserving of a callup soon. I'm pretty optimistic.
  17. The bullpen hasn't been great, but it's not really relief pitching that's the problem. It's having just about the worst rotation in baseball. Everyone other than Anderson has been terrible this year and it puts a lot of stress on the pen when they have to go 4+ innings every night.
  18. That might be the second worst brewer hype commercial I've ever seen, right next to the "It won't be the lead on sportscenter" commercial
  19. I think part of pulling him is that the last two batters hit him pretty well and Counsel really didn't want to give him another round through the batting order. If a batter or two reaches in the 8th you have bautista and Donaldson up with a guy or two on base. I'm kind of on the fence about it though because this is two straight games using both closer and setup when you could have maybe rested Knebal.
