  1. I guess I have gotten a little tingling every now and then. Shutting down hasn't worked much though. I've taken months off at a time and the first time I throw again I'll have the same problem.
  2. So kind of a weird question here but I was wondering if anyone here would be able to give me some medical advice. Here is my issue: I played baseball starting at probably about 7 years old all the way through my senior year in high school. When I was in the 8th grade, I started experiencing pain in my right (throwing) elbow. It basically hurts right in them elbow, kind of in the back outside part of the elbow. It starts to hurt if I throw for too long or too hard. And it hurts A LOT if I throw too much. I remember after a few high school games it hurt so much I could barely hold my arm up, and that is when I played outfield. It's not like I was pitching or anything. For some reason, I never said anything to anyone and I just played through it. I stopped playing baseball after high school but still have the problem when I play softball. I'm kind of debating asking a doctor about it but to be honest I don't really want to do any sort of serious treatment because it only affects me when I play softball and I have played through it for 15 years and have no problem continuing to play through it. I'm just really curious what the problem is because I know it isn't normal. Does anyone have any ideas?
  3. I'm just really excited about this draft. I'll probably be ok with anyone they pick so long as it's not a reach or a player they pick for signability reasons. Springer, Jungmann, Swihart, Norris, etc. I'd be ok with all of them. Ideally you get an SS in the second round. The Brewers were pretty high on Darren Ford at one point in time as well. Lorenzo Cain was the most recent prospect to be thought of as the team's CF of the future, and how can you forget about Dave Krynzel? Throw Charlie Fermaint and Stephen Chapman into that discussion, The problem I see with this argument is that guys like Ford, Fermaint, and Chapman never hit well at any level. Lorenzo Cain probably would be the Brewers CF right now but they needed to trade him in order to land one of the best pitchers in baseball. Krynzel....I don't know how to explain him, he just couldn't put it together in the majors. Schaeffer can hit, and has hit at every level he's played at. I'm more worried about his health than his hitting. I'm confident that either he or Komatsu will turn out. Komatsu is raking in Huntsville right now and should be in Nashville by the end of the year. He may very well be Milwaukee's starting centerfielder next season.
  4. The thing with the Flock was that so many of their members were no-names. Other than Raven and Saturn, and to a lesser extent Kidman, nobody else had any following. I remember an episode of Thunder where members of the Flock attacked Nash. Nash pretty much cleaned house but Saturn and Raven just stayed outside staring down the Nash. They should have turned that into a bigger feud between the Flock and the NWO but they never did. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfduXebGdD4
  5. I would have been a bigger fan of the NWO except for two things. 1) Bischoff made it WAY too big and he ruined a lot of good tag teams (Steiners, Harlem Heat) by having one of the tag team partners join. It never made much sense to me that someone like Stevie Ray would constantly get beaten down by the NWO, loose tag championships because of NWO cheating, and then all of a sudden decide to join. And 2) It went on for too long. A lot of the matches and story lines got frustrating because the same things kept happening. It started out as just a brilliant idea though. Nobody back then could have guessed that Hogan would turn and join. That kind of stuff just didn't happen back then. Then when they went to a six member group with Hogan, Hall, Nash, Luger, Steiner and Bagwell I liked it because it got rid of a lot of the crap that shouldn't have ever been in there to begin with. I also liked the WWE version of the NWO with Shawn Michaels, but it seemed like injuries really derailed that idea. If they could have gotten a group together that included Michaels, Hall, Nash, HHH, Xpac, and The Giant, that may have been the greatest stable, talent wise, ever assembled. Plus they would have had guys like The Rock and Stone Cold challenging them I agree with Drick about Fortune. They are really growing on me. One thing just bothers me about it though. The group was started by Ric Flair as basically a new Horsemen. They use a new Four finger salute and would be named the "Four Horsemen" if they had the naming rights I'm sure. Why on earth would they make Ric Flair turn his back on them to stay with Immortal? It makes no sense. They are his group. Also, TNA needs to get it's act together with Immortal. They need to clearly define who the members are. Is Jeff Jarrett still a member? He started off in it but never really appears with them any more? What about Gunner and Murphy? It seems to me like Eric Bischoff has no idea how to develop and maintain a good stable. When he ran WCW, the NWO was way too big and he more or less killed The Four Horsemen, a group that had been around for decades. I hope he doesn't do the same thing with Fortune and Immortal.
  6. I agree, but if BPA is more or less a toss-up, I'd go pitcher ahead of outfielder. Obviously if Milwaukee thinks Springer is far and away better than anyone else available you take him. But if there is little, if any, difference between Springer and, say, Jungmann, I'd hope they select Jungmann.
  7. It's really late and I can't sleep so I thought I'd ask everyone who their favorite wrestling stables of all time were. My top 5 include 1) Four Horesemen (Flair, Anderson, McMichael, Benoit) 2) DX (HHH, X-Pac, Outlaws) 3) Evolution (HHH, Flair, Batista, Orton) 4) Fortune (AJ Styles, Kazarian, Beer Money) 5) Hart Foundation (Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Jim the Anvil Neidhart, British Bulldog) Other ones I can think of off the top of my head: NWO, LWO (WCW), Dungeon of Doom (WCW), Main Event Mafia (TNA), Immortal (TNA), Nation of Domination, The Corporation, The Ministry of Darkness, The Radicals (WWF), EV2.0 (TNA)
  8. I know you're not supposed to draft based on need, but I don't agree with drafting an outfielder. I'd argue that four of Milwaukee's top five position prospects are outfielders (Gindl, Kentrail Davis, Komatsu, and Schaeffer) and all of them can probably play center. They also have Richardson who apparently has a lot of tools and Kh. Davis who has a ton of power potential. Couple this with both Braun and Hart being signed long term, the dearth of infield prospects and the fact that you can never have too much pitching, I REALLY hope they don't pick an outfielder in the first round. I'd be ok with Swihart though.
  9. I'd like to see Defilice given a shot. He was really good two years ago before he got hurt and he's been pitching well in Nashville so far.
  10. I just hope whoever he signs with isn't in the lower half of the standings. They really need that extra first round pick. Multiple first round picks in back to back drafts is a good way to restock the system.
  11. I think I may have over-valued Marcum when I suggested a 4/60 deal for him. He might be willing to sign something closer to a 4/40 type deal.
  12. I agree with Invader. I'd like to see Corey Hart back at first base. I think he'd be a better defender there than Gamel and would be easier to throw to. I do think it's much likely that it's Gamel though.
  13. If the plan is to extend Marcum for 4 seasons, I'm not sure I'd want to commit to that. And if the plan is to somehow get Grienke to agree to sign only a 4 year contract, I'll just say good luck with that. I agree with one point and disagree with another. I'd be fine with signing Marcum to a four year extension. I do agree Greinke will command more than a 4 year deal though. I'd go as high as 6/120 for Greinke. If you can somehow get those two signed long term it would mark a very successful transition from "scrap heap" type pitchers and overpaying for over the hill below average pitchers to having three very good pitchers and back filling the rotation with homegrown talent. Either way though, you absolutely have to re-sign either Marcum or Greinke.
  14. I don't know if this has been talked about in the Braun extension thread, but I thought it deserved a thread of it's own. With all this money going to Ryan Braun, what does this mean for the futures of Zack Greinke and Shaun Marcum? I think it is absolutely ESSENTIAL that the Brewers sign one of them to a long term deal. I don't know if they have enough money to sign them both and Marcum is probably a lot more realistic and cheaper. He's pitching really well right now. I'd strongly consider offering him an extension of 4/60 right now. While they do have a lot of pitching prospects coming up not a lot of them, if any, appear to be top of the rotation starters. If you can keep Gallardo and Marcum around for a while, that will give the team time to draft and develop top of the rotation prospects. Even then if Greinke walks, you have two pitchers capable of being top of the rotation starters and then you can hope that guys like Rogers, Peralta, Scarpetta, Rivas, and Heckathorn can fill out the rotation. After this season, Fielder walks which sheds a big chunk of money. Hawkins is probably gone and Bentancourt may be gone too. Ideally, you can trade Wolf and replace him with Rivas or Peralta, saving more money. The Brewers need to stop spending money on relievers. They can build the bullpen around guys like Parra, Loe, Braddock and Axford and hope other guys like Kintzler Defilice and Stetter pitch well enough to make for a decent bullpen. Hopefully your backup infielders can be Farris and Green, which would be really cheap and Gamel presumably replaces Fielder. My whole point of this thread is to note that if Milwaukee is to remain successful past 2012, they need to re-sign at least one of Marcum and Greinke....ideally both. It would take a lot of creative financing, but I'd like to think a strong 2011 and 2012 would give them enough financial flexibility to do it.
  15. They were also 23rd in attendance. Makes me wonder how much longer the Bucks can survive. Milwaukee just isn't an NBA city.
  16. Well hopefully if his defense shows promise during those two games a week the Brewers will turn that into a full time role at shortstop. Again, there is no reason not to.
  17. Has anyone seen Rogers pitch in person this year? Why is he having such a hard time throwing strikes?
  18. Well that's good news to say the least. If he can be at least average defensively, he has the opportunity to be on Milwaukee's roster next year at worst. If he can hit, he has the opportunity to be the starting shortstop (I know that's a long shot but you never know)
  19. I am hoping they go pitcher-pitcher, unless for some reason Lidnor falls. If he does, you have to take him. I just think with the depth in this draft class where you have to opportunity to get two pitchers who would ordinarily be top 10 picks you have to do it. With the shape the system is in though, I'm just hoping that they sign both picks, whoever they are.
  20. This entire things makes zero sense. That's all I have to say about that.
  21. How much should I expect to spend for a Scooter vs the Snowman bobble?
  22. Well that's thing with Farris...he can't be a platoon player if he only knows how to play second base. Green can play second and third and if Farris could cover short then I would be happy with those two as the backups next season. It would be a step up from this years backups.
  23. At this rate in about a month or so Peralta should be bumped up to Nashville with Heckathorn replacing him.
