Suppan is 7-8 (assuming the Brewers lose today) with a 4.69 ERA and a WHIP around 1.40. In 14 of his 15 starts, he has pitched well enough to keep us in the game and has been very good on a couple of occasions. Isn't that pretty much what we thought we were getting?
I just looked at his stats and was a bit surprised that he only has 14 K's in 18.2 innings. I know that isn't bad but I guess I would have thought a high 90's fastball and a low 70's breaking ball in A ball would net more, especially since his ERA indicates he is dominating. Do I have unrealistic expectations?
4 wins in a row 5 wins in the last 6 games 5-3 on the current road trip 9-6 over the last 15 games 16-18 overall record on the road Back to 8 games over .500 6 1/2 game lead in the division
Way to recover Coco. Nice outing Dave Bush. 4 wins in a row 5 out of the last 6 5-3 on the current road trip 9-6 over the last 15 games 6 1/2 game lead in the division. Life in Brewerland is good again.
You are correct on the larger sample size but I believe there is the psychological factor as well. Personally, I would pull Bush now, he needs to finish his start on a positive note and build off of it.
