  1. Nice inning by Lehr. Boy, the Brewers have really held the powerful Reds offense in check so far this series (knock on wood).
  2. What were Daron and Bill talking about??? I thought I missed something, because I saw him hit it.
  3. Russell Branyan is the Keith Ginter of this season. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  4. Not feeling too confident with Justin Lehr and a 1-run lead. We're gonna have to snap out of it soon and add some runs.
  5. Really wishing Hardy was playing and Hall was at third.
  6. Well I hope he homers here too. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  7. Yeah, Helling's been a very unexpected and pleasant surprise. They needed someone not named Santos to step up when Sheets went out.
  8. Sure overall K's aren't that much worse than normal outs. But some here have been arguing over the situations where it does matter. The thing that sparked the argument wasn't a strikeout with nobodoy on base. It was with runners on second and third with 1 out.
  9. But the run won't score on account of something the hitter did, which is what we've been discussing this whole time.
  10. Wait, if a flyout is the same as a strikeout, how did Freel get to third? The Reds made an out, didn't they?
  11. How does striking out in that situation not guarantee the run doesn't score in that at bat?
  12. I'm fine, I haven't called anyone names or anything like that. I just don't see the argument that a deep fly ball, grounder to the right side, etc. is no better than a strikeout in that situation.
  13. Man, that inning was pathetic.
  14. So what if Overbay hit a sac fly there? Would it be the same as a strikeout? You don't make any sense.
  15. That's a complete exaggeration of what we're saying, and you know it. Someone says that someone who can't make contact hurts the team, so you provide someone with zero power as your argument.
  16. Do you want to hear about RISP, or do you want to see Branyan hit dingers? I've said all along that I don't understand the Branyan love. I like him as a reserve player, but not much more than that. Everyone talks about his OPS, but he only hits against righties. I used this example once before, but don't you think Carlos Lee's numbers would be better if he just hit against lefties? Branyan's numbers are inflated.
  17. Let's see... a ground ball up the middle or to the right side, an infield hit, a deep fly ball, an error... do you need more?
  18. I don't see why Helms isn't playing more. Branyan hasn't done a thing lately.
  19. Branyan with yet another horrible strikeout. Runners on second and third, one out... but strikeouts don't matter right? Who cares, his OPS is pretty. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif
  20. Same with me. I usually support Yost, and I almost never judge a lineup before the game, but I'm making an exception. Why wouldn't he start Hardy after his day yesterday? Makes no sense...
  21. RWA, what he's saying is that Hall royally screwed up on Lee's groundout. Lee did his job by hitting it to the right side. As soon as you see a ground ball to the right side, especially such a softly hit one, you have to put your head down and go. There is no excuse for that.
  22. Just goes to show how screwed we'd be if Clark was out for any extended period of time. Nothing against Rickie, but Clark is a much better option there. Plus it weakens our two-hole, and Hall's normal spot, etc.
  23. Ahh...http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
  24. Those "lowly Reds" are 2.5 games behind us. The Brewers can't take Cinci lightly. They've been hot lately.
  25. Was anyone else disgusted by this post in the Cardinal forum? yonks15 wrote: Lets hope that we can win these games and extend the lead in the Central. I don't like it when the lead dips under 10 games. I hope we can extend it to maybe 14 or 15. Hopefully Matty Mo will be on his game tonight. Cardinals fans seem to be just reaching for things to complain about... must be nice.
