This has to be a real concern and why they needed to hire a proven hitting coach like Kevin Seitzer who is doing wonders in Seattle with Edgar Martinez. Guys like Chourio and the future hitters like Wilken and Pratt need better coaches.
Its just hard watching this lineup with so little power that it usually takes three baserunners just to score and thats not an easy task for these hitters.
Murphy feels the need to use at least 6 pitchers seemingly every game even when they don't give up many runs yet people expect the guy to put a good lineup together especially when 2/3 of the lineup struggles to hit it out of the infield.
They needed a proven hitting coach like Kevin Seitzer but went cheap and hired a guy that is 65 and had never been a major league hitting coach and we are paying the price.
Right or wrong this hitting coach is going to have to be a sacrificial lamb and lose his job. Personally I think the lineup is trash but somethng has to be done and this move has to be made.
If we trade him now we should be able to get much more with the acquiring team having him for two playoff runs. This team just isn't good and the more prospects the better right now.
Myers should be given a longer leash considering how good he was last year. This feels like a front office trying to justify the Priester trade by sending down a better pitcher.
