  1. I feel total apathy towards this seasons team. Normally I am bothered by the losses but I think this team is closer to the pirates than being a real contender so I find myself caring less by the day. To me its all about the minor leaguers providing a brighter future as I think this season is essentially over for the big league team.
  2. A team with money like the Mets who know him well or the Phillies will gladly take a shot with Payamps who can still be a good pitcher despite his early season struggles.
  3. No one could have seen Yelich not being a functional player anymore or Ortiz becoming a zero with the bat but everyone other than this front office knew third base was going to be a black hole. Arnold has to take the blame for that as well as not having a competent hitting coach. Chourio as talented as he is needs the right instruction and instead of hiring a good hitting coach with experience like Seitzer the team brught in Labeauf who has never coached at this level. Stearns deserves a lot of the blame as this organizations philosophy under him was up the middle athletes even if the bats were not up to the task. Arnold has traded for Ortiz who has fallen apart and Durbin who just doesn't have the talent to be an everyday player and certainly not the arm for third base. Good for him that they have drafted more robust hitters and that should help in the near future but this team is not a contender for the playoffs mostly due to a lineup that doesn't have nearly enough power and way too many guys without the ability to even consistently hit the ball hard much less with power.
  4. Are we really worried about the optics of sending Ortiz down when his OPS is way below .500? How about the optics of a team continuing to trot out a left side of the infield that has to be the worst in MLB.
  5. Unless you are just dumping free agents to be to save money the returns for those guys will be miniscule. The big decision is to extend or trade Freddy as we really should avoid the type of return we got for Burnes and Devin who were traded with only one year of control and we are seeing how we didn't get nearly enough for either of them.
  6. I agree that with our payroll limitations signing Adames would have been a mistake. The problem was essentially punting on replacing him thinking that Dunn and Durbin could handle third base which is clearly not the case.
  7. Yeah I think its more than fair to question the last few big decisions that Arnold has made some of which have been disastrous.
  8. They can all go other than Hook who has proven himself to be an excellent pitching coach.
  9. Where is all this bad luck for the Brewers. It looks to me like they hit one or two balls hard a night so its just a matter of them being terrible.
  10. Contreras is hurt and it sounds like something that will linger all year so I wouldn't count on him returning to form this season.
  11. Chourio has the lowest walk rate and the second highest chase rate in the NL and for that alone the hitting coaches should be axed.
  12. What exactly is going to change with this offense. The left side of the infield will remain the worst in baseball and Yelich is not going back to 2018-19.
  13. If the Twins offense is middling what words would you use to describe the Brewers offense.
  14. Its time to start gauging interest in our tradeable guys but the only ones with the potential to bring anything worthwhile back are Peralta and Contreras and if they are moved I just hope the return is better than we received for Burnes and Devin.
  15. Stearns absolutely deserves a lot of the blame for consistently drafting up the middle athletes with no pop in their bats. I like both Turang and Frelick but you can't have a lineup full of guys like this that have no power. Arnold is at fault for trading for Ortiz yet another middle infielder with little power and what he saw in Durbin to get him as a main piece for Devin is something I seriously question though Murphy seems to have a lot to do with that as his over the top praise for him following the trade was not great. Luckily the draft strategy seems to have changed under Arnold as we now seem to have some good power prospects in the system but the over reliance on middle of the diamond athletes at the expense of hitting and especially power starting under the former GM has this major league roster relying on way too many AAAA level bats. Hopefully this will change soon as guys like Wilken and Pratt get closer to taking over the left side of the infield but in the meanwhile we are stuck with the worst 3rd/shortstop combination imaginable.
  16. I would agree with you but look what Seitzer and Edgar are doing with a Seattle team that wasn't hitting.
  17. Good post but can you not use the phrase bite of the apple.
  18. Most of these guys lack talent but Chourio falling apart tells me these hitting coaches are trash.
  19. Might be a sacrificial lamb kind of move but its time to fire the hitting coaches.
  20. Can Woodruff play some third base when he's not starting we could use his bat in the lineup.
