  1. An infield with Turang, Ortiz, and a Dunn/Durbin platoon is way short on power and I really hope we plan to upgrade on Dunn/Durban who should really only be competing with Monasterio for the last player on the bench position. Rosenthal who isn't in the gossip business believes we are going to go with a Dunn/Durban platoon and will also look to dump Hoskins to save money. If this happens its a sign that we are not serious about winning and would be beynd disappointing. Its bad enough that the financial rules of the game are crippling the small market teams like the Brewers but I've got to hope that we are not serious about going with Dunn/Durban as anything other than backups.
  2. Not a matter of being stupid but somehow the 24th ranked prospect in a bad yankees system is the next Altuve because thats the likely end result with any 5'6" infielder that we acquire.
  3. He's probably better than Monasterio but he should not be under consideration as an every day player.
  4. I think relying on a guy like Durbin when this team is lacking power is extremely dangerous. We didn't have enough pop in the lineup with Willy but without him its dire. A lineup with Frelick, Turang, and Durbin just isn't good enough. We can't count on three regulars with the extremely low EV that these three guys offer and really hope this isn't the everyday replacement for Adames. Odds are Durbin is another AAAA guy like Monasterio vs being anything close to an everyday fixture in a playoff level lineup.
  5. I think this team needs to start moving guys with 2 years of control remaining in order to get a better return. We could have done much better if we moved Devin last offseason and as it turned out probably won a series or two in the playoffs and we really should at the very least listen in on offers for Freddy. With his low salary and two years till free agency we could probably get a big return for him. Certainly I wouldn't just giveaway a guy like Freddy but its all about asset management and the best time to move Peralta is probably now. I don't know what teams would offer but two years of a cheap starter is probably worth a lot. If we can get some good prospect arms or a power bat we should trade Peralta and if not we can always keep him.
  6. Not a bum but a playoff choker which are two totally different things. We can all agree that Greg Maddux was a great regular season pitcher but in the playoffs Braves fans wanted Smoltz on the mound and not Maddux or Glavine despite them all being hall of fame pitchers. We all love analytics but stats don't take into account the clutch factor which some have and some don't. Personally I never had any confidence in Devin in October and wished Murphy had kept Freddy in to pitch the ninth. To me Devin is the yankees postseason problem now and I expect him to fail next October as he did with us.
  7. Or Monasterio and Dunn who have little to no value at all.
  8. I am thrilled to be rid of Devin who has proven himself to not be worthy of the big moment as he choked away our series last season and has always been shaky in the playoffs. I wanted to move on from him last offseason when he had more value and maybe we win a series or two last year if we had done so. As for the return I don't trust that Cortes will stay healthy and hate that we only have one year of control. I would like to see him moved if we can get good value but if not we just have to hope he stays healthy enough to trade at the deadline or get the compensation draft pick. To me Durbin is more likely to be a last man off the bench type than any sort of solid starter and a team with little to no pop after losing Willy is still in desperate need of some power. All in all I would have liked to see more of a long term return which we probably would have received had we traded Williams a year earlier but just getting rid of him at all just might be addition by subtraction even if I am not a fan of what we got for a top reliever. Teams are always desperate to add starting pitching so if we can trade Cortes for longer term players the deal would be that much better.
  9. I want any other team besides the Mets to win the World Series but fully expect them to win it.
  10. You skipped the part where it says ONE of the only franchises to have never won the World Series.
  11. The big picture is we haven't won a series since 2018 and are one of the only franchises to have never won the World Series.
  12. I don't care who wins the World Series as long as its not the Mets but I think thats exactly who will win which makes our choke all the more painful.
  13. Well the Phillies have actually won the World Series in fact multiple times in their history while we are one of the only teams that have never won so our complaints are far more valid.
  14. For me personally this was the worst sports loss I have ever endured. I would have preferred losing game 2 or getting blown out in game 3 but choking the way we did was just soooooooo incredibly disappointing that I question if I will ever get the excitement back for this team. I doubt I will watch another postseason game I’m just too upset about how we lost. I wish I could be like many of the other fans that are looking forward to next season but at least as of today I’ve lost all faith that we will ever win that ever elusive World Series.
  15. I wish I could look at the big picture but this was such a gut punch and the continued playoff choking has destroyed my hopes of ever winning a World Series.
  16. Technically he can come back but I don't want him to. If they can get something good that would be terrific but I don't really care what the return is.
  17. Unlike Brewers fans you have actually seen the Saints win a championship so no fans outside of the Mariners and Padres in baseball understand the agony of being a fan of this team.
  18. If the Mets win it all they should at least give Devin a ring. Personally I never want to see him in a Brewers uniform again and I don't even care what they get back in a trade.
  19. This may not go over well but I don't even care what they get back for Devin he CANNOT come back.
  20. This surely beats losing 90 plus games and hoping for the highest draft pick possible but at least for me its no longer satisfying to win the division followed by a quick playoff exit. Unless this team gets it act together and wins at least one playoff series the season for me will be a big disappointment despite not having high expectations going into the season. Surely the attacks will come and anyone that feels differently and will be happy with the season even if we do nothing in the playoffs is more than entitled to feel that way but for me another quick playoff exit would be beyond disappointing. Call me crazy but I would like to win one World Series even if we struggle after winning that title.
  21. I am not proficient on how to post a screenshot but if someone would give me directions I will happily post both of my Brewers preseason bets.
  22. With all of our bullpen depth doesn't a trade of Devin almost have to happen as long as we get good offers.
  23. The most likely scenario is a first round 2 of 3 matchup against Atlanta or the Mets and I don't see this team beating either one especially the Mets who have most of their players healthy.
