Apparently this isn't the first time Shaw has dogged it on seemingly easy outs this year from what I've read. People have cited a pop up error against Arizona, and maybe another time too. I don't recall that play and I never thought of Shaw as someone who would take plays off, but if that's the case then Counsell was absolutely right in benching him and I have no problem with CC saying as much to the press after the game. It's not asking much to run hard for 90 feet two or three times a game.

I was having fun lastnight saying Boone should get a three inning save opportunity, but he probably would've turned that into a two inning save opportunity for Hader.

Considering where they are in the lineup, I would say it is. Knowing Shaw the way I think I do, he will own up to it after the game and say it won't happen again. Can't get too upset with him during a game like today.
