Eric Sogard is the type of player Rachel Phelps would've salivated for. How is he still on a major league roster? We need to consider the possibility that Counsell is starting Sogard in an effort to break his own consecutive hitless at-bat streak.
Braun's out of the lineup again. But Craig, I thought you said he'd be back today. We've been through this song and dance before. Say it's just a nagging injury and it's only day to day. Next thing you know he's on the DL and missing three weeks.
Well, he's out of the lineup Saturday as well. We've been through this song and dance before. Say it's just a nagging injury and it's only day to day. Next thing you know he's missing three weeks.
Oh for the love of Pete, Sogard at SS again? Please CC, give me one good reason why he should even get a start, much less at SS, ever? In fact, why is he still on the roster? I'd rather have Drake back.
He was ranked between 64 and 80 by three publications' top 100 prospect rankings before 2014 when he got hurt and lost two seasons to TJS. That's really the only reason he's a long time minor leaguer. And Yelich's ball was foul. Will try to get video of it later. The video is posted on this thread, and very clearly shows it was fair. Even mlb.com titled the video Yelich's deep "foul" ball.
What if...Villar had been playing second base tonight and had come up with that grounder that led to the two run homer? What if...CC challenges the Yelich non home run? What if...there was a competent home plate umpire?
After they reviewed and still called schebler out on the pickoff play at 2nd base the other day where he was obviously, clearly safe, im convinced theyll get it wrong anyways. You are probably right, but you still have to challenge that. If they get it wrong in New York they will certainly hear about it from the powers that be.
Adam, That's one of the many things that is wrong with replay. Didn't the Brewers lose a game that way a couple years ago because Brian Price was given a challenge he didn't have? Simply for requesting one from the umpire?
It was a fair ball. It should have been called a homerun and certainly should have been reviewed. I rewound it a few times back in the first and came away satisfied it was a foul ball. That's not foul. https://www.mlb.com/video/yelichs-deep-foul-ball/c-2007320283
