Wow! This felt like a loss waiting to happen for the last four innings or so but the pitching really buckled down when it had to. Very un-Braves like offensive performance.

As I said lastnight, The Braves have yet to have a mulit game winning or losing streak since the All Star break so it's a guaranteed win for us today.

Can you assume the ump will call it a ball? Very true. Maybe their home plate umpire has been just as bad as Bucknor, but you could say that about pretty much every umpire. Update: The home plate umpire ejected Suarez earlier. I wonder why.

The good news is the Braves have alternated wins and losses since the All Star break so we will win tomorrow.

While Woodruff is a nice hitter for a P, he is still pretty bad, and there already are 2 outs. That is the exact time an 8 hitter needs to hack on 3-0. Especially since Pina has been seeing it well lately. EDIT: If a PH is a foregone conclusion, then, sure, take on 3-0. It wasn't though. He's really not a nice hitter. He hit a towering home run against Kershaw in the NLCS and is living off that reputation through no fault of his own. He's been made out to be a great hitting pitcher by fans despite not doing much of anything with the bat since that home run.
