  1. The one thing that sucks even more is that Trout wasn't even going to be our pick if we were there or if he would've dropped.
  2. I give up on trying to understand what the Brewers are doing. I get that they missed out on pitching so they went after a bat but a second baseman is odd.
  3. I could not agree with this more.
  4. Brewers trade for both Sonny Gray and Matt Harvey without giving up a top 10 prospect.
  5. ^ What they've said for the last three off-seasons.
  6. The Mets being the Mets....
  7. Sounds like he is going to be a Yankee
  8. Agreed. Liked Kodi as a prospect but it was going to be tough to get him onto the 40 man. Much better for them to get some value for him now.
  9. Love the deal. A bullpen of Albers Soria Hader Jeffress Knebel Williams Burnes Lopez is fantastic heading into the postseason.
  10. Happ gives up a ton of home runs. His strikeout numbers are up this year which is good however I don't think it'll continue as the rest of his career has shown a much lower number. If I'm giving up prospects for what's supposed to be a pitcher who's going to lead us. Happ just isn't it for me. I truly think they could be fine in the starting rotation if they can acquire some more hitting. I would go get a proven bat before a pitcher.
  11. Honestly feel like anytime someone is mentioned as being available, Stearns calls. He calls on everyone to gauge the market. I'll be severely disappointed if the moves we make include the names Happ or Wheeler.
  12. If your Stearns do you still offer the same package that was once second? Another part of the game. Could have had that deal before but you went with the other and now player X is off limits so you'll have to settle for player Y.
  13. Diaz had two different injuries throughout the year. The latest being a hip issue. The Orioles could be concerned with that. If it's Diaz who the snag is with I see the Brewers getting him. If it's not. I'd be shocked if they don't find common ground to find replacement players. Either way this is peak Baltimore.
  14. It's almost too easy with Baltimore sometimes.
  15. To be fair, it is the Orioles. This thing could fall through at any moment and wouldn't be a shock. I do think it ends up getting done with the Dodgers but the longer this drags on the more skeptical it becomes.
  16. Agreed. However, I don't think people understand how much Machado could help this lineup. Machado would have been a huge upgrade for us. Now I fully expect the Brewers to go get Escobar and a pitcher.
  17. ^ I for one...am shocked
  18. Keston will not be a part of this team until September at the earliest.
  19. Sadly, I think the ship has sailed. I do think that there was a time that we were leading and that we even could have had a close agreement. But I'm sure Stearns was not going to give up Corbin or Freddy and that's what made the deal turn against us. Wasn't the first K-Rod deal announced just after the all-star game?
  20. I think the deal comes down to an extreme. It's either going to be considered an extreme overpay or extreme underpay. (Hopefully if it's Milwaukee it'll be the latter), I get that he's better than JD Martinez and he plays premium position but it's still for 2.5 months of games. The Orioles really messed up by not moving him in the winter at the latest!
  21. To be honest, I think the Orioles know which deal they want but are using this time to put pressure on other teams. I do not think Stearns has budged at all from his initial offer. It would not shock me at all if we find out late Wednesday night that Machado has been traded. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if Machado hardly plays the field Wednesday as well. Edit: The topic has been split to improve board functionality. The last post in the previous thread is here: viewtopic.php?p=1130526#p1130526 - YouKnowAndThat
  22. Would love to hear the next phone call David and Mark have.
  23. Huira was recently listed as the Number 5 prospect by baseball prospectus. He isn't going anywhere for a rental but he also isn't going to be called up until maybe September. The Brewers have enough depth in their system that they could make a trade for Machado and Dozier and still be able to recover from it. The past two drafts have been very good for the Brewers. Add in the recent successes with International talent, they can absorb deals like that without giving up the top of their prospects.
  24. I dont disagree with you at all! But I also think that Arcia is so good defensively that hopefully he can go down to Colorado and start to find his swing.
  25. I think adding Machado would be a positive for the team as long as Arcia isn't involved in the deal (which I don't think he would be). The guys love Arcia. They don't want to see him traded for a guy that would leave in two months if the playoffs aren't reached.
