  1. What’s his old number being used mean? Miley could be paid for luv to get it back or he could just choose a different number..
  2. We would still owe the Cubs a pick can’t avoid giving one up to them... they did offer a QO to Arietta
  3. The other factor here is are they willing to fulfill that role or are they looking for more of a an actual Rotation spot full time which could lead them to signing with a lesser team to get what they want
  4. As in signs with Brewers by Monday or just signs with a team in general by Monday
  5. Ik it sounds crazy but for competition purpose does it hurt to take a look at bringing Lucroy back ik he’s struggled but he did look better once he was back in the NL last year
  6. Exactly! This isn't trading Torres plus other top prospects for a couple months of Chapman. This is trading a potential future for a much more sure future. Not to mention Archer is probably entering His prime In the next year or 2
  7. Well said cog your talking about isn’t in that beastly looking lineup atm he’s our 4th best outfielder... don’t get me wrong I think haveing a 4th OF like Santana would be great but I’d be hard pressed to see Santana not be a part of this deal... but hey maybe he’s working on a blockbuster that sees us get Archer and send Santana to a mystery team
  8. ...and a lot of us do not feel like Archer is that arm. So you don’t think Archers a Good Arm? Like at all? I’m not saying sell Santana and the Farm. But if we have to deal Santana to get a pitcher who’s owed 32 mil over 4 years and has a good track record of health and as a innings eater/TOR arm you do it... don’t get crazy with the offer but Archer has proven how good he is and he’d be an upgrade over everyone in our rotation now and that includes Nelson... you have every right to disagree but if your choosing say between Archer and a Salazar for instance I’m taking Archer every day
  9. I get your premise here and normally I would agree but with the feeling Stearns and Mark A want to go for it In the next 5 years, my question is do we sit on the prospects now and maybe trade them for rental arms or rental position players at the deadlines? Or do we go and get a controllable arm or 2 that could help us in the time window that they want to compete?
  10. Also with Santana he’s a good player but with his K rate wouldn’t shock me 1 bit if he takes a Villar like step back... so maximize his value now while we still can and get a good arm that can help us win Divison/ Playoff Series
  11. Even if we keep Santana he won’t be an everyday player Brauns not going to 1st full time.... Santana starts the year as a 4th outfielder in Milwaukee if you can get an archer tupe back for him woodruff and another prospect I’d do it in a heartbeat
  12. I think that's a HUGE overvalue for McKenzie. He's a good prospect to be sure, but value-wise, he isn't far off of what Woodruff is. I get the feeling reading this thread that we are substantially undervaluing our own guys, while overvaluing Cleveland's. Santana straight up for McKenzie would be a steal for Cleveland. I don't agree. McKenzie's ceiling is TOR, Woodruff's is not. Like it or not Santana's value is not what we think it should be. Brewers likely don't have their own TOR guy in the system, so you have to either take some chances like this or pay massive amounts of money or prospects to get a proven one. I don't know that we can get McKenzie for anything reasonable. The more likely trade is Santana for Salazar with small pieces thrown in on Cleveland's end. Santana has more value to Cleveland than Salazar to us, considering other market options. Many other teams would like Santana, we have a few other options to land a SP along with FA. I don't know Cleveland's system that well, but using the Brewers farm as a value comp...maybe Salazar plus a Diplan/Medeiros/Dubon/Gatewood caliber prospect. If we target Salazar + Mejia, get ready to unload at minimum one of Burnes/Woodruff/Ortiz/Peralta. If it's one of the latter 2, expect at least one other solid prospect to go back. What about Santana + Aguilar + Ortiz + Nottingham + Bickford for Salazar + Mejia? I think that's reasonable from a value standpoint, I'm not sure of their 25 man situation if Aguilar makes sense for them. Does Clevland want Aguilar back?
  13. Keep the prospects from our division rival and bring in Nunez or bring back Walker I prefer the defense that Harrison brings. I can't imagine he would cost a lot with all of the free agent options out there. Other teams that want a second baseman could sign either Nunez or Walker. Nunez would be fine Defenisvley
  14. Keep the prospects from our division rival and bring in Nunez or bring back Walker
  15. No that’s not even close imo i dnt think they’d do thAt without Santana in the deal and even if you swap Santana for Thames or Broxton still would probably need another piece And that other piece would be Burnes or Ortiz or both. I don’t think he’d give up both.... I think maybe Ortiz and then say nick ford to Tampa as a lottery ticket arm could be conceivable
  16. No that’s not even close imo i dnt think they’d do thAt without Santana in the deal and even if you swap Santana for Thames or Broxton still would probably need another piece
  17. Also we can’t be foolish enough that just because we made 2 big moves all of sudden FAs will flock to us no one knows how either of the 2 top guys view us or even if they take our Offers seriously enough to sign here I think Cobb and or Lynn we’d have a better shot at signing imo
  18. Right, but we already lost a draft pick on Cain. Losing another one for Lynn or Cobb may be difficult What’s your point Arietta costs us a draft pick also? And Cobb and Lynn both upgrade our rotation and probably come cheaper and with less of a years commitment then Darvish or Arietta
  19. If Darvish or Arrieta are even considering Milwaukee they’d be my go to guys also but realistically I think Cobb/Lynn is more of our range! But I would loved to be proven wrong
  20. I like just about everything in this Scenario outside of the Arrieta signing... imo I think he’s on the downside and would no way commit to him for 100mil over 5 year if you could get him for around 3-4 years at 15 mil a year I’d be more for it... also I think Cobb would be a solid pickup for our rotation and I think we could possibly get him in the 3-4 year range for about 12-15 a year
