I ask only because I’m unsure, but if the brewers were unable to come to a 2 year deal with Woody, could they just outright release him? If he’s likely to miss the entire season, his contract is a significant sum for an organization like the Brewers. -
And what have they done in the playoffs? 3 straight exits in the first round. pitching and defense gets you to the dance but doesn’t crown you. Hitting rules. Braves, dodgers, Astros, all had great lineups WITH pitching.

How many series have they won since their World Series appearance? Pitching and defense only works if you have some hitting too. Neither team has hitting.

That’s the true reason for the devastation, we will probably never have anything near this pitching again and we absolutely unequivocally wasted it. Out in 2 games with a whimper. Rather pathetic honestly.

Couldn’t care less. Baseball is over for me. MLB does an awful job marketing the playoffs and the sport in general.

A complete overhaul needs to be done. Fundamental changes. These hitting coaches are awful, roster construction has been awful, zero bats developed. Really impressive how bad our minor league development of hitters has been.

I seemingly post this every year at the end of the season, I feel like that’s now. Baseball breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall all alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Questioning my love for this team at the moment. But I know I’ll be back next February. Until then, go Crew.

I’d demand prospects if it were up to Arnold but it’s not, unfortunately it’s up to Mark. I’d not be surprised at cheap mark if he took money to pocket.

The two players aren’t really comparable. Bleier’s FIP is around 3.01 the last 3 years and Suter’s is 3.78. Bleier also has two more years of control. Perfect guy for a 7th/8th inning role. -
Feel ok about this team overall. Signed Vazquez to a 2 year, 17 mil deal. traded Ruiz, and Valerio for Diaz. Traded Tyler Black for Blesier, really like his stuff and probably an overpay. Resigned Jace if the $ is right but also ok with Turang after a month or two and signing a minimum guy in the meantime. Fill out the bench with rookies/roster invites. Leaves money to add as well.
