Nice to get 6 strong from Ross here to start the series. Frelick has me concerned. It’s still early but he just isn’t providing any sort of pop or the on base ability I thought he’d have.
You can’t begin to think these two teams are remotely similar tho? The brewers lead the NL in run differential, they’re not relying on 1 run wins.. this team is hitting and absolutely smacking teams at the moment
I get the positive spin and all amidst a sea of doomsayers, but there’s no possible way losing the best closer in baseball for half the season is a good thing. Especially considering the Brewers history of tight game wins the last few years.
I want a TON to move from Sal. Of our 4 outfield prospects, IMO he has the 2nd highest floor by a large margin. Snelling would be the target but it probably takes more than Frelick
I love DL Hall. Not a huge fan of Ortiz, this years class is weaker than next years so don’t love the pick but overall, it’s fine. Not blown away but fine.
Turner signing with Jays. Personally wasn’t super interested in him. Still think we work the trade market a bit before OD. Teams starting to get a little more urgent with spring training a couple weeks away.
I get that approach and that’s the likely result but this feels like a very light return. They must be incredibly high on the arm and or feel the corresponding moves justify this.
Oddly quiet right now for the Brewers. McCalvy talked about that ten day window after the GM Meetings where activity typically ramps up. Feel like a move or two coming soon.
Great for Ohtani but no fan base deserves it less than the dodgers. Honestly wanted him to go to Toronto. I’m reminded of that money ball quote, “there’s rich teams..”
When you’re negotiating with a team that has a farm system like the Orioles, I’d feel comfortable sending Burnes and Williams there for the right return. Mayo is a must.
Would love to have Wade back. Dependable vet that could help bridge the gap to the Gasser’s and Misiorowski’s of our system. Gonna guess around 8-10 million, unless they get a 2 year deal done.
Agreed, if he’s what they think he will be, you got an elite prime slugger on a 2 year deal for somewhere between 40-60 million total. Well worth it even for the Brewers.
Where do you get 4 picks in the top 40 in 2025 and $14 million in draft pool? Assuming 1st round pick, competitive balance pick A, Compensatory pick for Burnes. That would be 3. Not disputing it, just looking for clarification.
