  1. Going out on a limb: Package deal for Buxton and Taylor Rogers. Like Norris, Rogers is a guy whose FIP has been better than his ERA the last 2 years. I don’t even think the Brewers have the system to pull this off.
  2. Lotta teams got a lot better. Still believe brewers get a premier bat and another arm.
  3. Some of these teams have me scratching my head. Both the Blue Jays and the Yankees have a less than 30% chance of making the playoffs and they’re mortgaging the future just to have a chance to make the playoffs? Bad asset management IMO. I believe Brewers benefit from waiting and think some of these prices will come down as there will be less buyers.
  4. Totally fine with moving on from Shaw. Don’t really see a spot for him on this team this anymore.
  5. I think Turang is a good-defense, high-contact SS/2B. What has set off alarm bells for me is the drop in his walk rate. Even when he struggled in A+ in 2019, he drew LOTS of walks. Right now, he could be "sold" high. Honestly, I think the Brewers would have been better off dealing HIM for Escobar instead of Hummel, given their need for a long-term solution at first (and Ernesto Martinez is in Low-A). You think Hummel and Turang have the same value? Ugh, what?
  6. Very good point man. Unless there front office is similar to the brewers. Really want us to play let’s make a deal with them.
  7. Okay, now I ask this in all honesty and not trying to be a jag off...But people say it's hard to compete with the Dodgers ta the trade deadline etc. Let's assume for a minute Scherzer would have waived his no trade clause for Milwaukee...The Brewers could have at least come close to this right?? I mean a Small and/or Ashby, Turang + package comes very close, doesn't it?? If not even better?? Not even close. Try Mitchell, Turang, Small and probably another piece or two. These are premier top 50 prospects. Not worth it for rentals.
  8. Now I really hope the giants win the division and the Padres eliminate the Dodgers in the wild card game. Ridiculous.
  9. Per Jon Heyman “ Ryan Tepera is believed in this deal to White Sox as @ByRobertMurray reported” Cubs and White Sox make a deal
  10. And they got Hand for very little. Happy to see most of brewers top prospects are likely to be safe. I’d be shocked if anyone in the top 15 is even traded.
  11. Imagine if the Yankees trade judge now after acquiring Gallo. Judge was scratched earlier.
  12. So pumped for the Escobar addition. Best power threat on the team. Where do you guys envision him in the lineup? I’m thinking 5th when Yelich comes back and maybe 4th while he’s out.
  13. Escobar and Jeimer were the two pieces I wanted. Looks like a great price for Escobar too!
  14. Also pretty crazy when you consider the bullpen was sitting with a 4.59 ERA (23rd) / 4.83 FIP (27th) when they sent out JPF & Rasmussen for Adames but has pitched to the tune of a 2.78 ERA (2nd) / 3.79 FIP (5th) since the trade. ERA being a full run better than FIP is pretty cool to see. Building around defense seems to have played well. Should help the Brewers case if they’re in the market for pitchers either on expiring contracts or 1 year deals next year. Count me all the way in on Gallo as long as Mitchell is still in the system come Friday at 4 PM.
  15. Kinda makes me wish we drafted McClain since I’m not in love with Frelick and it feels like we have money to burn without Riggio or Holton I would agree. Brewers would have up to $1.45 million to spend on remaining picks and Vire and Rogers would both have to sign for this to workout IMO.
  16. Well Cessa at least. Wilson is terrible. Wilson has shown the ability to be solid. Really been bad this year. Johnson might be able to turn him around similar to Sonny. Still plenty of pen guys left for us.
  17. Reds acquire Mychal Givens. Bullpen getting better between him and the pair of Yankees guys.
  18. My main argument is that Urias is 24 years old, and has already improved substantially from what he showed with the bat last year. If you believe his is going to all of a sudden plateau as a .750 OPS bat, more power to you. But given the improvement he's shown in his short time as a Brewer, I don't see that. Will be be a superstar? Maybe not. But a kid putting up a .750 OPS for a contending team after just turning 24, while playing competent defense at a relatively unfamiliar position, is a good thing. There is zero reason in my mind that he cannot continue to improve, too. In the end, I'm not going to upset that apple cart for a 35-year-old 3B that might supply a marginal improvement for a couple months this year. I do not believe that Donaldson is going to provide more production and value than Urias in 2022 and beyond, either. +1 as the posters here commonly like to do.
  19. Is it possible Donaldson could play 1st? I know he’s a very good fielder but durability seems to be a problem and 1st should be less grueling then 3rd. Also keeps Urias in the lineup which I’m a big fan of.
  20. Brewcrewin07, take some time away from baseball and the internet for a few days. Hope all is well.
  21. Chafin bout to be dealt. Always felt destined to be a brewer.
  22. Man I hope not. Feels like the only hole in there lineup and if they get some bullpen help, they would very tough.
