  1. Giving up that run in the 8th was huge. Exactly why you have to go with your usual suspects. Escobar with a chance for a special moment.
  2. You ain’t kidding. To say I would be sick would be putting it lightly. Still don’t see them beating the dodgers.
  3. The last 3 games have been awful to say the least. But watching the Cardinals at the moment, there philosophy and style is very similar to the Giants. Maximize every at bat/pitch/trip on the bases and grind. Brewers look like a team who punched there ticket already.
  4. I don’t want to beat a dead horse… but… is this one of the worst seasons we’ve ever witnessed from a hitter? I can’t remember many worse than this. JBJ can’t seem to do much right.
  5. So very true. System is always under appreciated. A ton of young talent beginning to unveil themselves.
  6. My point, your the only person I’ve seen suggest trading Wong or saying the team should think about. Whatever round about way you suggested it. It makes zero sense. Its hard to take your point seriously when you quite obviously haven't really been reading my responses very thoroughly or you are just completely strawmanning your way through this conversation. How many more different ways can I say "I don't want to trade Kolten Wong at all, I just disagree that he's one of the most valuable players for the money in baseball."? Literal word for word quotes from me in this thread: "I really don't have any interest in trading Wong" "He is just a great fit for this team" "I'm all about keeping Wong" "I'm not suggesting we trade Wong" I actually mixed up your original post and outlanders so my apologies for that. Again, I’ve stated multiple times I meant 2nd base and you continue to hammer that best value in baseball rhetoric. Strictly for 2nd baseman, he’s among the best value in baseball. Again, apologies for the original post mixup. Usually on my laptop but on the mobile today and aging eyes combined with smaller screen….
  7. Enjoy the off day tomorrow boys. Up at least 8 on the Reds and a chance to put the red birds away for good. Go Crew!
  8. I meant 2nd base and that doesn’t dispute the facts. he’s been extremely productive at the lead off spot giving you gold glove defense. Making less than 10 million per year. Which is something Semien sure isn’t doing. Yes I’d love Semien but he hardly fits into our payroll making almost 20 million. Albies signed an extension and is actually a very comparable player to Wong. Both with wRC+ around 115 and Wong has the superior glove. India is a rookie performing well, but not too long so was Hiura. Guys will adjust to him. My point, your the only person I’ve seen suggest trading Wong or saying the team should think about. Whatever round about way you suggested it. It makes zero sense.
  9. Wong is one of the most valuable players in baseball at his contract. Look, I'm all about keeping Wong but why do we have to say things that are obviously total embellishments to make our points? What is the embellishment? Find a better 2nd baseman anywhere near his contract. Tremendous glove, hitting for good pop and average. I just don’t understand what you’d be accomplishing here. This team won a lot of games with Wong as the 2nd baseman in the lead off hole and it will be fine without Escobar.
  10. Wong is one of the most valuable players in baseball at his contract. Why on earth would we trade him. Escobar is a nice piece but you don’t trade away a better player that’s controllable for a lesser player.
  11. Sure feels like Escobar’s defense has not been great since arriving. I guess playing him out of position at first is a very large part of it.
  12. wRC+ at 101, probably shouldn’t be hitting cleanup with a slugging percentage below his OBP but I guess a game against the worst team in baseball is as good as any to try and get him going. Go Crew!
  13. Eh, Anderson has been fine. Good, even. Peralta, Burnes, and Woodruff have been fantastic. His FIP is 4.5. Yes, thank you. This more or less supports what I said. Anderson has been fine. Below Average 4.40 He’s below average. That hardly qualifies as fine but he won’t be pitching meaningful games in the playoffs so I’m fine with him.
  14. Cousins just can’t throw a strike. Thankfully Moran is up here swinging at everything. I like our chances if we can hold it to a 2 run lead Edit: nice job getting the dp. Now hit that pen hard boys!
  15. Eh, Anderson has been fine. Good, even. Peralta, Burnes, and Woodruff have been fantastic. His FIP is 4.5.
  16. Between Rowdy, Vogelbach and Hiura I think we’re learning about the importance of a good fielding 1st baseman. Definitely should have been scooped up.
