  1. With the Rays calling up Franco, I wonder if Brosseau will be available. Can play anywhere in the infield and would be a young controllable asset with positional flexibility. Not that far removed from a tremendous season and we know how hitters struggle in the trop.
  2. Beautiful at bat by Vogelbach. And while I love to see Yelich slap singles all over the field, it hurts to see he’s become a singles hitter. 1 extra base hit in the last 9 games…
  3. Yawn.. only been saying this since the beginning but yay for people finally starting to see the light.
  4. Tired of watching garbage hitters such as Lopes, Robertson, and Peterson and you can even add JBJ to that list. Journeymen with the exception of JBJ and he might even be the worst out of all of them right now. Reyes also is simply not good. I know injuries have decimated this team but you cannot tell me that there aren’t guys out there that can be had that can at least hit the damn baseball around a .200 batting average. And before you all respond, “ well batting average is irrelevant” of course batting average isnt the most important stat but it tells a story like any other stat, and the story it tells for this team is that we suck. Bottom 3 in almost every major offensive category.
  5. I’m fine standing pat with Vogelbach at first if that means 3rd base will be upgrade significantly. But…How about Moran? Cheap deal I believe and he would be a nice piece at 1st that should be an option if Pittsburgh listens in on him. Aguilar would be the dream scenario.
  6. It’s crazy to see how quickly the Brewers overhauled both there 2nd base and SS positions. Wong and Adames have both been very good to say the least. If only they could do the same for the corner infield spots. Lineup becomes rather good if Stearns is able to get a corner infield bat with a wRC+ north of 105 and he’s got a lot of options this year. I would like to see the Crew also target a couple of relievers from Baltimore, Fry or Scott.
  7. Bullpen help and a bat at either 3rd or 1st. Bullpen help can probably be had for a reasonably cheap price. Maybe there is a starter out there the Brewers can convert to the bullpen… 1st base bat would be nice but probably more options available at 3rd.
  8. This makes me sad. Really wish he could just figure it out. I’m just very concerned about Yelich and because of the contract even more so than Hiura.
  9. Does he look the same running? It’s a fractured patella, you literally wear a brace and it heals on it’s own without surgery. If he runs alright, his knee isn’t sapping him of anything. Maybe he just had two really big outlier years and the Brewers bought at the top of the market. After all, he did have over 1300 at bats as a sub .800 ops hitter prior to coming to Milwaukee Did you see his LHP/RHP splits? He’s clearly not torquing up the same.
  10. He just looks so off balance and uncomfortable. Missing strikes in the zone, not being aggressive in the count. This isn’t even close to the same player. I’m very concerned.
  11. Yelich’s wRC+ indicates he’s a slightly above average hitter the last season and this. This guy isn’t the same. Knee injury looks like it sapped his power.
  12. As I’ve told you all, we all need to have a very serious conversation bout Yelich.. but we’re probably not prepared for that.
  13. My expectation is that if Freddy is on today, he pitches at least 6 and depending on the score he uses Hader in the first game and then the second game Counsell has Boxberger and Williams to cover the 6th and 7th assuming Anderson gets you 5. I could be wrong.. but I think we sweep here today. Shortening the game favors the team with the better bullpen and the Brewers have that.
  14. Out of the entire team, he gives me the most confidence that something good will happen at the plate. The player with the least amount of time impacted by Haines. Makes sense.
  15. I want to start a very concerning conversation about Christian Yelich but I’m not sure any of us are ready to start that.
  16. Save your breath. I’ve been banging this drum for awhile now. You keep your best strikeout pitcher to strand the runner. This isn’t rocket science.
  17. It happens all the time. He has no errors because he routinely misreads balls and there is not a play on them. Gets maybe the worst jump for an outfielder I’ve seen in some time.
  18. I’ve been bringing him up for almost a year and people keep responding with “why would the tigers trade him away”. Well nobody expects to get him for nothing but we can’t deny that he would be a long term solution at the hot corner.
  19. Also add Jeimer Candelario as a very interesting option. wRC+ of 115 and the plus side of getting him out of Comerica and into Am Fam Fields but would be costly as he is still under team control for 3 years. Adam Frazier would be another option assuming he can move over from 2nd to 3rd. Has 1 year of control after the season and would be a top of the lineup bat. Not sure he fits with the Pirates rebuilding cycle. Has a wRC+ of 140 right now which probably isn’t sustainable but has been a career above average hitter and would represent a tremendous improvement at 3rd.
