  1. Good to see him picking it up as of late - I think it was him the other day who said you cant do damage on balls hit on the ground, so it seems like he is actively trying to make the launch angle adjustment.
  2. Looks like he has only played 3B this year, other than a couple games at DH. A cornerstone 3B would be nice...
  3. There is a ton of love and hype around our quartet of OF prospects of Mitchell, Frelick, Weimer, and Chourio, but I want to give a shout out to Tyler Black. He is not nearly as hyped but has been getting better every year and has improved with tougher competition. 2021 (A) - .222/.388/.272/.660, 28.2% K, 19.4% BB, .049 ISO, 2 SB 2022 (A+) - .281/.406/.424/.830, 15.5% K, 15.9% BB, .143 ISO, 13 SB 2023 (AA) - .276/.467/.513/.980, 17.1% K, 21.9% BB, .237 ISO, 17 SB Those are really impressive numbers with elite bat to ball skills and improving power (with speed to boot!) at 22 years old.
  4. Not if that availability gets you a sub .700 OPS
  5. I'd guess most of that WAR is defensive because there is nothing about a .660 OPS that says anything other than he has been terrible at the plate.
  6. Bellinger seems to have found it again this year. Slashing .295/.373/,589 on the year.
  7. I'm not into conspiracy theories but MLB did crack down on cheating and Yu Darvish did accuse Yelich of cheating. I've always attributed it to his knee injury but I have had friends suggest the cheating thing.
  8. I didn't think he could be much worse than he was the past few years but he is currently sitting at a .656 OPS and 82 OPS+. I know its technically still early and he is making a ton of money but is there ever a point where they say enough is enough? What does he bring to this team other than quality baserunning? What a sad fall from grace.
  9. Avoid sitting in left field during day games - the sun and the metal bleachers are absolutely BRUTAL
  10. Looks like less of a fleecing if you add in the Hader deal. Hader for Contreras, Rogers, and Gasser.
  11. I can guarantee you the organization has not thought about this at all. You just grabbed arguably the best young catcher in the game.
  12. I think there is a chance that might be it. Atlanta is shouldering a ton of the cost for acquiring a premier catcher. A's will get Pina, Muller (ATL #1 prospect), Tarnok (ATL #6 prospect), and Ruiz (MIL #9 prospect)
  13. Yeah if Atlanta is shouldering most of the cost then there is a chance we get by with giving up much less. Pina, Ruiz, Muller, and Tarnok is a solid haul.
  14. If Ruiz is it then a statue of Matt Arnold needs to be put up in place of Bob Uecker as the face of the Milwaukee Brewers.
  15. Okay then its definitely not just Ruiz...right?
  16. I don't think so. That position is too much of premium for the Brewers to send a young, controllable piece away. I believe Arnold when he said they would like to keep the core intact.
  17. If I had to venture a guess I would say we traded Mitchell, Ashby, Payton Henry +
  18. Arraez seems like a quintessential Brewers player. Versatility, control, and great bat to ball skills. Would give a lot of flexibility in the infield with Arraez, Urias, Turang. I wonder if an Eric Lauer would do it? View full rumor

  20. Frelick may not have the power of Weimer but his skill set translates the best to the MLB level. You can develop power but its much more difficult to develop contact and plate discipline.
  21. I don't think we see Curtiss pitch until 2023
  22. Drew Pomeranz vibes from this move...
