  1. Still so early in the spring but at this point it seems Tyler Black is the early standout. Does he have a shot to make the roster? Would be hard to say no if he keeps hitting like this.
  2. As others have said, this leaves a big hole at 3B. Yes, maybe we shift Ortiz and add Williams, but I think this team really needs a slugger. I know it isn't in the makeup of how this team is constructed but the power is still lacking throughout this lineup. We are loaded with prospects right now, I can't imagine we will just hoard all those guys. Gotta think we would ship some away for something...
  3. Kazuma Okamoto is going to be posted this off-season. I know Japanese players aren't super eager to come to Milwaukee and he will probably end up on the West Coast, but this would be perfect for the Brewers. Position of need, and a big bat.
  4. I don't have any likely big name targets the Brewers could go after, but it does sound like we will have a good amount of money to spend. We have a few mutual options that likely wont get picked up (Woodruff, Hoskins, Quintana, Jansen) and with our currently commitments and projected arbitration numbers, we should be sitting under $80M in salary for 2026. Would love to add a big bat like Story or Bregman but those guys just aren't within our budget.
  5. A lot of people seem to think Freddy will be traded this winter after we pick up his $8M club option, similar to what we did with Burnes. If we do go this route, I am curious what kind of haul we could get for Freddy. I would think an elite pitcher on an $8M salary would fetch a pretty good haul. For comparison, we traded Burnes to Baltimore for Joey Ortiz, DL Hall (RIP), and the 34th pick in the 2024 draft (Blake Burke).
  6. I'm optimistic that Murphy is going to let Monasterio get an AB this series
  7. I would much rather have Monasterio start and bring in Joey as a late inning defensive replacement
  8. Yawn. Really hard to get excited about the season when these are the moves we are making.
  9. With only 6,000 followers I am going to go with BS on this one.
  10. Yet another pitching lab candidate...
  11. https://x.com/ByRobertMurray/status/1735383553419165954?s=20
  12. One less suitor. More and more likely we keep him.
  13. Numbers don't jump off the screen and hasn't pitched in the MLB in two years. Must see something they really like to give an MLB contract.
  14. I really hope they find a way to keep Mitchell and Frelick
  15. Does this guarantee he is our starting CF on opening day? You would think so...
  16. I would be really surprised if the Brewers did this. I don't see them going that high. Chourio only had 21 ABs in AAA. 8 years $80M maybe?
  17. MLB.com had an article from today that said the following: "The Brewers could make things really interesting if they trade Corbin Burnes and/or Willy Adames, with one executive speculating that the Dodgers could make an attempt to land both in the same deal." While unlikely, it got me wondering what the Dodgers could possibly put together to get this done. What do you guys think?
  18. Makes sense to shop him and see if another team will take the risk. He is a free agent next October and I am not sure the Brewers would be willing to tender him a contract with the outside hope that he pitches in 2024. You could sign him to a mini extension but then you are paying even more for the hope he returns to form in 2025.
  19. I think its a couple different factors. Not having Woody all of next year is a big blow. Also, because you have such a young offensive core, you have a much longer runway to compete but whenever that window is Burnes and Adames won't be a part of it. A small market team like the Brewers cannot afford to just let those guys go for a compensatory pick. All about maximizing value for your assets.
  20. I think losing Woody had a pretty big impact on this. If he is available you are probably more likely to make a run given you would have Burnes, Woody, and Peralta anchoring your rotation. I believe Arnold also mentioned something about taking a fresh look at how they do things so maybe they go away from the “bites of the apple” strategy The sobering reality of the MLB landscape is the Brewers cannot really afford to let Burnes go with just a compensatory draft pick. You have an extremely young offensive core and you are probably looking at a competing window starting in 2025 when Burnes and Woody would be gone. I think you need to reload with young talent at this point.
  21. I'm surprised I haven't seen the Orioles listed more as possible trade partners. A really young team with great offensive pieces without a dominant starting pitcher. They certainly have the salary cap space to offer an extension with all the young guys they have. They also have the best farm system in all of baseball so could make a really strong offer.
  22. Said it rivals the amount paid by American Family for naming rights. Anyone know about how much that is?
  23. If they have to put a David Gruber patch on their jerseys for us to stop seeing those awful commercials, I'm all for it.
  24. https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/baseball/news/brewers-sal-frelick-cleared-for-baseball-activities/ Just saw this. Would love to see him get up to speed quick and have him on the active roster - we need a catalyst.
  25. Anyone know the status of Frelick? Been a while since I have heard anything...
