    I'm rooting for Cirillo at 3rd and Branyan in RF. Hard to sit a guy the day after he hits two dingers. Jenks could use a break, his DP yesterday was well hit and a bit of time could be useful. Think Yost will pull the trigger? (I don't)

    Game observation from the stands. No curve for Benny! This is why he needs more confidence in his change-up. Not that Ben isn't Cy Young calibre already, but if he can get to the point he mixes in his change when the curve fails he won't be vulnerable on days like today.

    Tough Loss, just got back from the north side. Didn't manage to pull off the Miller Park South sign, maybe next time. My thoughts from the game. Rough day for Jenkins, needs to work on situational hitting. Clark could have made that catch. Situational hitting too. I'm a big Phelps guy, but why in the name of all things baseball does he have 4 app in 5 games, each (before today) lasting an inning? Guy did not throw today like he normally does. We have 12 men in the bullpen for a reason, we shouldn't wear out one guy because he's looked okay so far. Still unknown whether Phelps will really produce or not, but I don't put that much stock in today. The guy has inexplicably been overused so far, and it showed. This is what happens when you wear out your pen.

    Really I think Clark should have scored on Lee's Foul out. With 2 outs a ball that far in the stands and a weak arm (lee) I'd try that anyday.

    I think the management is deadset on Santos starting the season #3 as well. Whenever a manager makes any of these comments: "He had great stuff, we're not looking at results" "He was just intent on getting his work in, that's the important thing" "He'll be ready for April, that's what we're concerned about" "He made good progress on what we were working on." you know that a decision has been made already and the team is just covering a PR angle. Ned used the "He had great stuff, just too many mistakes" in the game notes yesterday. I would think Obie would be higher than Hendrickson at this point. Given the way lil' Ben was locating, he's probably going to struggle at AAA too, until he works out the mechanical changes made over the offseason. That'll happen eventually, but I highly doubt Hendrickson will put up the numbers in AAA he did last season right out of the gate. Sheets/Davis/Capuano/Hendrickson/JDLR sure does sound appetizing though.

    Prince, apparently feeling bad about his shoddy defense knocks a MONSTER 3 run jack over the straight away center batters eye. That is really REALLY far.
