Hoby hasn't been good all year. One thing I've noticed is team seldom get two pitchers ready at the same time. At least the Brewers. When someone doesn't have it they stay in and cost you the game. You can't let that happen.
Agreed. Also close pitches can be fouled off. It's as if they feel if I can't hit a close pitch leave it to blue to decide. What happened too fouling it off to get a better one??
Brewers hitters take strike 3 with men on base so much. Saw a doc about Reggie Jackson. He said he got called out with men on about 10 times in his life. Why? He wanted those steaks. Brewers need that philosophy.
Brewers have treated this entire season like they did not expect to be any good this year. The fact is you have to play the hand you are dealt and there should have been a pivot that enabled them to take advantage of the opportunity. They haven't.
Brewers needed a bat badly at this deadline. Frustrating that they thought otherwise. I continue to be fascinated with how tightly teams cling to prospects instead of proven players. It's really something.
