  1. I definitely hear that, something about it seems very congruent with the team grinding their way to the postseason, expectations be damned
  2. Thank you Marlins! Also, if the score remains the same to end this game, I believe we are then +1 in the fabled run differential column
  3. Marlins up 2 now, come on and hold this lead
  4. Seems like Rock and BA could benefit from logging onto BF.net, they're concerned about Woodruff exiting the game, but it would seem that they are both managing his recovery back into starting and lining him up for playoff scenarios
  5. That Grisham is my kinda guy, how nice to see someone work the count like that for a run
  6. That shot of Theo after the Hiura dinger should live on in meme form for decades. I didn't want to say it at the time, but that alone was practically worth the price of admission. The fact that we just walked it off on their highly-paid closer...that win literally cured what (collectively) ails.
  7. this is always my fear as well, and i stop myself from vocalizing it because it feels patently ridiculous. But like you said...what else explains this? Sure there's the idea that we don't cut bait on guys who have been very productive in the recent past, which of course few of us advocate for just dumping the under-performers. However, how we can just keep trotting out the same guys and getting the same results over and over, I can't be certain, but I think there's a colloquialism about what that's called.
  8. this is just brutal. i really try not to be an alarmist, but this skid feels particularly awful.
  9. Haricourt's article alluded to Cain's ongoing injuries, wonder if his hamstring is nagging him much more than that
  10. going to choose as best I can to view that as a progression in Jimmy's return. Ran out of gas pretty good, but slowly building up his strength from the last start. Nothing would please me more to light up Bumgarner more to get those runs back
  11. Chase looked sharp in the 1st, good to see. Although, does anyone else find it hilarious that he seems to love the same necklaces that I did when I was in 7th grade?
